HAHAHA, yes put some weather stripping on the metal fender holders all the way across not just by the bolt holes. Also if you have a trunk that may also rattle so weather strip all around the bottom where the lid closes. Any where the plastics hits or touchs metal weather strip it. Alleyoop

Great to hear the motor is running very well and you actually notice the difference. Adjusted valves do really make a big difference, many times people will get after the carb trying to compensate for the tight valves. You can many times make the motor run a little better but not near its best. Eventually the valves will need to be adjusted because no matter what you do it will no longer help.
So now you see how important it is to have the valves adjusted when needed. I know it is a pita but it has to be done. The next valve adjustment really depends on the quality of the head and valves and mostly on the quality of the head. The head is what gets compressed with all the banging going on which then closes the gap. Alleyoop

Some dealers are slow in sending out the MSO, I would give them a call so you can go and get it registered and titled. Bummer you might have a bad tire DID it come with a warranty? if so you can maybe get another tire for it. Alleyoop

Cool, let me know if that is ALL that is wrong with it. But that certainly is a major BOG issue and will run much better after it is fixed. Just remember any AIR LEAKS will cause the motor to suck in to much air for the amount of fuel so it will not take throttle very well. Alleyoop

You can patch it up with RTV it turns into rubber and then wrap some tape over that whole area while you order the new intake and wait for it to arrive. You can get the RTV at any auto parts store.

Yes I have some ideas of what could be wrong. 1. Did you take the top off the carb and take out the diaphgram? 2. Did you mess with the Fuel Ratio Mixture Screw? 3. Did you attach the throttle cable correctly and adjust it? Take a picture of the RIGHT SIDE of the CARB LIKE THIS: Alleyoop

Hi Pete, good to have you on the forumn. I see you bought the hotrod of the trikes and is why it does not have much give on the shocks. It is a what I would say a LOW RIDER heck the height of the seat is not even 2 feet off the ground But if it wobbles back and forth something is out of whack and the things that could be out of whack are: 1. Tires need to be balanced especially the rear tires. 2. The axle is not aligned and is pulling to once side 3. The hubs are loose on the rear axle (grab the castle nuts and if you can wiggle them the whole wheel will wobble) so get a hammer and give the axle a nice little whack to push it back in NOT TO hard just a nice little whack. If the axle or both keep on coming back out I will show you how to fix that. The chain tension from the bottom center should only be able to be pushed up about 3/4 of an inch. If it keeps on either tighten up or loosening up the bolts on the brackets or not tight enough and or if it has adjusters on the bottom they are not holding. If you could take some pictures of the axle from the rear an the chain side so I can see what kind of setup yours has. HAHAHA, no they are just lazy Reason some set the EXHAUST with a wider gap is that is the valve that tightens up much quicker due to the extreme heat the valve with no cooling effect. The Intake gets nice cool fuel plus nice cool air to cool the valve and head area around the valve sit. With a wider gap it extends the time for the next valve adjustment. What they do not realize is they are limiting the amount of the opening due to the wider gap also noisier motor as well as less power. So yes, you can go wider if you want I just give the best setting for the best performance from the motor. Alleyoop

Ok, its a 50cc NOT a 150. With the pictures we can then find the model it is. They make so many and change the coverings but underneath all the same just the skins. Also what size tires are on there? Alleyoop

Well the motor will be itched on the crankcase so then you will know which one it is a 50cc or 150cc. The 150s tao tao most common 2012 are powermax VIP they have like torpedo holes on each side of the fenders.
