Ok so I have heard that when going at medium to high speeds you need to counter steer. This really confuses me. Can someone explain this to me better. It confuses me because people say you need to turn right to go left and vice versa. Is this true? why can't i just turn right and go right? could someone help me with this issue cause i am getting my 50cc jonway agility tomorrow of friday and I don't want to crash it.

Hey everyone, I have looked everywhere to try to find out how to remove the side and body panels on a Jonway agility 50cc scooter. I need to remove them to adjust the carb, and set my valves. Can someone please tell me how to remove the panels, or help me find a link to a tutorial? I have looked and couldn't find a tutorial myself so I thought I would as you amazing folks. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to do is set it on the centerstand, start it, warm it up for a few minutes, and change the fluids BEFORE you ride it:
The engine oil should be checked by sticking the dipstick in the fill hole and not screwing it in. For the gear oil, fill it by pushing it in directly from the container until it dribbles and then let it stop before replacing the plug. For the engine, use conventional 10W-40 in the summer and 10W-30 in the winter. Use 75W-90 for the gears, synthetic is OK but not necessary. Then change the fluids again at 100 miles and every 500 afterwards. That may sound like a lot but it's easy to do, cheap, and will help the engine last a while. You should also set your valves immediately, and every 500 miles afterwards. If they get noisy or the engine starts running like crap, set them early will 10w40 still be alright in the winter? and this scooter is only 50ccs and I don't believe it has a dipstick. Is there somewhere else to fill the engine with oil? and I don't know if I will be able to set the valves before i ride it, I will need to ride it home from the dealer first. and I don't even know if i can safely set the valves without breaking anything :/

Here`s a manual for the engine which should give you some idea of where things are scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=manualsgenericsandstandards&action=display&thread=5329The valves are on the cylinder head inside an alloy cover, if you have a look at the manual it will explain things with more detail. There is a dipstick/filler for the engine oil on the right hand of the engine just behind the fan guard. The drain plug is on the bottom of the engine, there might be two. One is a simple drain plug, the other has a mesh filter inside to filter the oil and catch any crap floating around. The 4T oil is normally labelled as Scooter 10/40w, although I`ve used normal car 10/40 with no problems. Transmission/gear oil normally comes in 125ml tubes which is enough for the 50cc models. It might take some searching on the rear of the casing to find the drain and fill bolts. You shouldn`t need to replace the battery as the quality is normally ok. Easiest way to get a replacement is take it to an auto battery shop and let them match it up. There will be numbers on it and of course the positioning of the terminals and external dimensions matter so it will fit inside your battery box. Ok perfect! so changing the oil and the engine oil, are they two separate things? or when someone refers to changing the oil do they mean the engine oil? Lastly sorry to bother you again Rob, I searched for the tutorial to adjust the valves but alas I could not find it. Do you think you could link it for me? Thanks so much for all your help and making me feel at ease about starting this scooter off right, Justin.

Rob that does help a lot! I have a few questions still. Do you know what is a battery that would fit in my Jonway Agility? Do I have to put any gear oil anywhere or just changing the oil should be sufficient, and what type of 4T oil? I ask because i looked it up and there are many different types. also exactly what valves were you referring too , like on the carburetor or what? I apologize for all my questions, I am just not the most mechanically adept person as you can tell, and probably am asking some stupid questions. So any more answers would be greatly appreciated!

I am going to be purchasing a brand new Jonway Agility 50cc scooter within a week and wanted some advice/help. I want this scooter to last a good while and want to be able to maintain it. Is there anything I should do immediately after I buy it to make this a better scooter. Like a new battery, spark plug, or an oil change, etc ? Also if some of these things are needed what would be a good battery that I could use in it and does anyone know where I could find it online? Or what is the best oil to use for it, etc? Thanks for your help everyone! This will be my first scooter and so I want to do everything right the first time

Welcome to the forum, get us some pics of your new ride and let us know if you need anything. Thanks Bashan, I appreciate it! I'm guessing since it is a chinese scooter there will be things that will eventually need to be done to it to keep it running to optimal capability. When that time comes I know I will be needing your help for that. Speaking of which do you know if there are things that need to be done right away to help the scooter ride right?
