scoot, cyborg, Alleyoop I think you just confirmed the lean condition at about 25 mph.if you give it full throttle it boggs than if you let off the throttle a little bit it will recover and start to gain speed and start pulling hard. as far as top end it will get there but slowly.your tip is VERY helpful can't wait to try it out but from what you said sounds like lean to me.you agree ?WOW..lights just flicked were in the middle of a wind storm here lights went out but back on now. better go for now while I still can.thanks, look forward to your comments.

cyborg Thanks for taking the time to look .Alley came back on line and confirmed my thinking that I'm a little lean so I'm going to try and start with a 112 main and see what happens.thanks for all your help.

Alleyoop Yes, I think I'll start with the 112 and work my way up if I have to.Alley should I even consider messing with the nettle position or just leave it be.thanks

rks Hi and I thought the radiator hose and pvc was my great idea.ha ha.you have the same set up as I do only the jet size is different . I think I'll try the 115 and see what happens.if I do buy the keihin I can use the stock carb as a back up.thanks

scoot, Alleyoop, cyborg ok got a little side tracked their, nettle taper?do you mean the nettle it's self or the bore in the carb body being worn out ?the carb is in good shape as far as I can tell or I'm I way off base.one thing I forgot to tell you is I extended the air cleaner tube to clear the frame but I don't think that would matter as the stock tube to the air box was twice as long.

cyborg sound like a good fix wish I had that back in my Harley days the carbs always sat so close to the bottom of the gas tanks with that 90 turn on the cable it was hard to get it to work well.I did see some guys just let it fly in the wind looked like sh*# and not to safe.but guess it worked for them.

scoot, Alleyoop Ok let me start from the beginning as I said I have had good luck with keihins in the past.and don't really want to spend the extra doe.so maybe if you are the carb. guy you can help me .the scooter is a 150cc with a after market air cleaner, emissions are by pasted with stock muffler (I'm building a custom exhaust out of stainless tubing but it's not finished )I'm now running a 110 main and 35 intermediate have adjusted air fuel mix in and out 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 turns can get it close but still wants to bog down on hard acceleration seems to do better at 3 turns out .i maybe wrong but this tells me I'm too small on the main .checked spark plug looks good, color on the gray side hope this helps if you need more info just ask.thanks in advance.

I've pretty much decided to buy a real keihin carb. I've had good luck with them on Harleys in the past.my ? is who to buy from.I see John from NYC has them for a good price.he seems like a honest guy.but I was burned on what I thought was a real Japanese keihin from a guy I also thought was honest It ended up being a bad knock off it looked rite even had the keihin logo on it.so I'm kind of hasten to buy from someone I don't know .so if any of you out there can put in a good word for John I'm all ears.I know John is on this forum now and then and John if you read this thread please don't take it personal.it's just business.I look forward to any and all comments.
