Thanks everyone for all the complements. I really love her and can't give up riding her to get the cosmetics done. LOL Will be the first of the year before we get around to tearing her down again. My riding season here, louisiana, is from march to december.  And I agree scootaway, she ended up lighter than I wanted. But she'll get a fresh coat and the right shade next time around.  |

I haven't gotten techy enough to get a gps, still like a challenge folding my map, but I have been followed and clocked with another car. My speedo is almost right on the money . At 50 and higher you can notice a couple of mph difference, but no more than 2-3. Guess I lucked out with this bike.  |

Hey damin69, yous sounds kinda like mine. My husband took my muffler off, thinking a "baffle" had come loose. Inside he found...... a catalitic converter! The guts, so to speak, had rusted loose and were rattling around inside, not really doing their job. Temporarily riding with the gutted muffler til the new one gets here. He found the problem afte he cut the muffler open and he had the end welded back on after emoving the insides.

Fastest I've gotten on my mc54250b is 78mph. WOOOOOEEEEEE what a rush! lol

I've only ridden mine for short trips at 60-75mph. I feel safe doing it, but it is not very comfortable on the bottom. Maybe that's got more to do with age than the bike though. LOL
