Anyone know where to get a rebuild kit for gy6150 (157QMJ) starter? Would like to have the "brushes" but a full rebuild kit with o-rings, oil seal and brushes would be even better.

Seen this type of device on the internet often. But how to make one ? Zaptester Electronic Spark Plug TesterSaw a blog on DIY for one here but lacking in instructions: How to build a bench top Spark Plug testerI have a spare CDI & Ignion coil / cable. Wondering if they can be used to make one. Anyone know how - or - know a link to full instructions on how to make one fairly cheap? Would be great for proper / better plug gapping & side gapping checking.

Alleyoop ----> Thanks for the link Dealing with a Ebay buy hassle from a seller who posted an item with some mis-leading pictures and some seriously lacking facts about their item. Not to keen on the photo of the item not showing the # on the jet - but I will send them a note (ask a question) and ask them about the item / specs and another photo possibly. Thanks again.

I had considered using some of my old smaller jets and using the micro drill method. I may have to do that before it over with but I would really prefer a factor smooth one.

After an upgrade ( still tweaking ) finding jet size an issue. Carb is PD24J on 150cc. #120 is simply too rich at running speeds (10mph +) #115 is great at idle and performs decent at running speeds (10mph + 35mph). Runs awful over 35mph However the #115 causes temperature rise of 300 deg in a few minutes during 5 minute test ride....... The 300 deg temp is off the cylinder head / under the spark plug - not oil temp. Sooooo, anyone know where I can find a PD24J main jet between the #115 and #120 size ? Thinking a #117 - #118 would be the perfect medium - but where to get it ?... Anyone

Bashan ---> Thank you for the info. The video on the top end rebuild is pretty good. Your post "GY6 Project By Bashan" is AWSOME. Lots of really good pictures and information of the whole process. I plan on doing some photo uploads of my original camshaft and the part is has that the A9 camshaft does not have. It seems that the performance camshafts do not have this - excluding the c6 camshaft which supposedly does. I really need to find out if a woodruff key / spline is available for it - just more to research on this particular thing. Hopefully I will be creating a new small post with pictures to explain what my whole issue has been with this new head and camshaft install. Thanks again.

Thank you Alleyoop. Because of "Alleyoops" warning, I googled the camshaft stopper and found a discusion in an old "scootdawg" forums dated May 07, 2008. The direct link and title is : OEM Valve Adjustment : scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/8313?80264=undefinedIt is suggested / stated in the above post that ; "This stopper is not on any of the high performance cams with the exception of the c6 cam". I haven't researched / verified this concerning any changes in performance camshafts since that thread dated in 2008 (six years since then). It seems to me that if it (camshaft stopper) was installed on stock camshafts - and - that everyone states not to turn the flywheel counter clockwise during valve adjustment or in any other circumstances that the camshaft stopper surely plays an important role. I will have to remove my new "A9" cam and look for variance btween my the A9 camshatf my stock camshaft. I could not find a "rebuild" or "maintenance" thread / video on rocker arm assymbly. - Just saying it may good for future reference purposses / general maintenence / troubleshooting.

Bashan & Alleyoop --> Thank you.
Bashan , I can grab the flywheel with my hands and turn it backwards. I do not know if I can turn all the way around or not. I just turned it about 1" or so. it was not really hard - very little resistance.

Brake parts cleaner is O.K. to clean variator. Clutch & clutch shoes may need to be examined for wear. The variator fan in 2 parts sound broke - hard to tell from the photo. Check this link for a full cvt / transmission inspection video - hope it helps. CVT & TRANSMISSION INSPECTION

Just popped in a cylinder head.
Flywheel turns backwards <---- backwards ? I though it was only supposed to turn forward.
My re-install process "in order" - best as I can remember :
1.) installed 2 hollow metal guides on two of the four stud bolts that the cylinder head slides onto. 2.) put on head gasket. 3.) put on the cylinder head. bolted snugly the 2 side bolts. 4.) put on 2 hollows metal guides that cam holder goes on. 5.) Installed camshaft and made sure marks (holes) were lined up & down. 6.) Installed rocker assymbly. 7.) set valve lash .004 in and .oo5 out. 8.) installed cam chain tensioner.
Stoped at this point because I was re-turning the flywheel to re-check that valve lash was correct and noticed that the fly wheel turned backwards (due to back pressure ?) about 1/2". I turned gently backwards and it move 3/4 - 1".
What could it be now ?

I just did a Piston-to-valve Clearance test with modeling clay.
I don't know what the clearance measurements should be for intake or exhaust between valves and cylinder head.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Alleyopp --> thanks and good video. My concern was since I am installing a "different" cam - A9 cam - and Big Port Valve Head with stainless steel valves (and because someone else mentioned checking clearance)I thought a defective new part was possible. Better safe than sorry since its my third head in 7k miles. ebay item (head) = GY6 150cc High Performance 63mm Taiwanese Big Port Valve Head (NON EGR) solde by scooterelments-rcgalore

Just saw a video on a guy that installed an A9 camshaft and has a problem. Just want to make sure I don't have problems like him. Cant find specs (way of measuring A9 cam) prior to install to make sure its not faulty / actually an A9. My upgrade will consist of the A9 cam and Big Port Valve Head with stainless steel valves and High Compression Valve Springs Rated to 12,000 RPM . Just curious what this guys problem may be and how I can "AVOID" the problem with my setup. A9 camshaft problemsThanks for any "BEWARE" / "LOOK OUT FOR" info upfront .... Like timing mods / valve spec changes, etc. with my planed upgrade.
