Lifts are wonderful to get the beasts up in the air to work on. I am too old and stiff to stand on my head anymore. I was head down under the dash on my truck last year and popped a rib loose. I purchased one of those HF mower and garden tractor lifts for $60 on sale with a 25% off coupon. It is well worth every cent. I have two font wheels so a standard lift does not work. I pick up the back end with a rope hoist or come-along then set it on a stand for additional safety. I can make a single wheel adapter if I ever need one. The lift gets the wheels about 2' off the ground. The actual item packaging and instructions list a 400# capacity. www.harborfreight.com/high-lift-riding-mower-atv-jack-60395.html

The techs in the service department where I purchased my 50cc scooter suggested 80cc as the best option.

The only PDI they did on mine was maybe to see if the lights worked and the engine turned over somehow. Otherwise it was DOA. There was no gas smell at all in the tank. The engine had been started but probably at the engine factory.
As far as websites and locations go I usually look in the 'contact us' info etc for a location. When I bought my scoot from the CA distributor I Googled their locations and did a street view to check them out.
Shipping and 'handling' fees vary so I just factor them into the price. Taxes also vary. It also costs $$$ to get in your car and visit a store or stores and bring an item home. Very few people think of that when making price comparisons. Warranty and return issues are always a consideration.

All my 'genetics' point to aircraft on both sides of the family. I never did get a pilot's license though.

I am not riding today. We got some snow flakes etc. It is 30°F here at the moment, supposed to hit 34 but I doubt it will make it.
That 100° at midnight weather is horrible with the humidity also. The wind makes it feel like living in a blast furnace. Most summers we get a stretch of that ~100° heat even at night in KC. Utility bills for cooling are outrageous. Then we get hit with high heating bills in the winter partially due to the wind. The wind just sucks heat right out of me. I hate living in this area but I am stuck here.

I have the blue version, and it works OK, no problems at all. I have several stock black ones for backups. I do need to test them to see if they all work.

Nice work! Keep digging in that box. You may even find fasteners if it is like my extra parts box. They may be in a container or just loose in the box. Good luck!

Well that theory goes out the window since you bought it new and the cap is a locking matched unit.
It is still a fire hazard and even an explosion hazard under the right conditions.

I live in florida a mile from the beach...you just get so sick of the warm weather and women in bikinis after a few years......lol I would die from gangrene due to a perpetual hard on if I lived where there were women in bikinis. I am dying here, I haven't even touched a woman in four years. Not even a hug from anyone other than a sister or daughter and that does not count.

I still prefer the cold over humidity and heat. I don't like the ice and snow. We get both shi**y cold and unbearable heat here in KC. It is interesting to note that most children love the ice and snow but when they start driving their attitude changes dramatically.
When my daughter moved to Santa Monica CA her landlord proudly demonstrated the heater operation for those few nights it fell below 40°F. We just smiled and laughed. She was moving from a place where some days it did not get above -40°F during the day and icicles formed in the bedroom. She never used that heater.

I am going to have to find a local place to buy scooter parts. I have Amazon Prime so most parts are available in a couple days. I have my own set of common spares. Even a CVT rubber band that is 'supposed' to be the right size. I have not opened it up to check. When I do I will probably stamp the size into the cover.
I think money and a cell phone along with my tool notebook may be my next manifest. I am not ready to go nekked yet. I will have to work on keeping the cell charged. I do have a 12V outlet on the scoot now. I could carry a USB adapter and a cable.... -More 'stuff'.
