so I found some time last week to put the shrouds on my motor and fan cover too. I thought I was gonna have to buy some, but turns out they were in a box of parts that I got from the previous owner. I don't know why he didn't have them on before. A quick trip to home depot and a couple bucks later for some screws I was able to put the covers back on. And not with out a little Loctite, Im kinda paranoid that everything is going to vibrate off the scoot. Also I put a fuel filter on it. After a week of riding it around I realized it didn't have one. Not sure if it needed one, but it seemed like a good idea especially since it costed me like 4 bucks from autozone which included some decent fuel line. I also ordered a K & N air filter which should come in this week. Hopefully I can do that this weekend and look at the headlight as well.

That's a slide/needle carburetor with a manual choke. How do you get at that to start it without opening the seat all the time?

Nice work! Keep digging in that box. You may even find fasteners if it is like my extra parts box. They may be in a container or just loose in the box. Good luck!

yeah it's kind of a b!@ch to get to the choke. I could open the seat everytime I start the scoot up which isn't too bad considering I cut a majority of the plastic away from underneath my seat to accommodate the fuel line and throttle cable, but usually I just reach underneath my scoot. Sometimes I gotta feel around for the choke but not biggie.
