There is another video that showed the belt drive better but it has too much fluff.
start at 0:45
Unlike the CVT's that we have now, the big rear pulley doesn't change ratio. Only the front variator changes. So the motor has to pivot to make up the difference.
As for the cable operated lever to the head I think I saw mention somewhere of a decompression device. That would bump one of the valves partly open to allow you to pedal fast enough to get it started.
Wait. Scratch that. 2-stroke. No valves. Must do something that has the same effect htough.

It's true. Many "hold my beer and watch this!" moments are tempered by a consideration of how far away the nearest emergency room is. Common sense or Darwin award? You choose. On the other hand, when you absolutely have to get there right now, that's when they call out the flying monkeys.

The brakes were one of the first things that really impressed me when I started riding my Lance/Znen. It's got discs front and rear and it will whoa down in a hurry. I have to brace my feet or slide right off the seat.
Basic brake science to make them better. Fresh fluid. Different pad recipes will grab and wear differently. In the extreme, braided steel brake hoses will eliminate most of the rubber balloon effect and make the brakes feel more responsive.

One of my friends sprung for a GoPro and some sort of remote control thingy. On our last trip he spent an inordinate amount of time farting around with it to make it work. Is it working? Is it not working? Are the batteries dead again?..... With what they charge for the camera, and then nickel and dime you to death with all the mounting accessories you would think that it would be more of a no brainer to operate. The only complaint I have with the Sony is that it takes a few seconds to boot up and the screen isn't bright enough when you're out in direct sunlight. There is only a small icon on the screen that is the recording indicator. No other red light or anything. I've lost several irreplaceable moments because I thought it was recording but wasn't. Last week there were a pair of young bobcats that strolled by our kitchen window not 50 feet away from where I was sitting. I recorded them for 30 seconds or more only to find out later that I didn't.

Sooner or later it will be. I bought it as a fixer upper. The previous owner "used it furiously" and smoked the engine in the first 1000 miles. In between other projects this summer I rebuilt the motor, reversed most of the "improvements", cleaned it up, and replaced the fuel pump. It runs pretty well now. Just need to tune the CVT to my liking. I'm new to scooters so it's a learning process. Still haven't lost the stupid grin though.

Sony HDR-CX130 i picked up on ebay for ~$150. We have a little point and shoot camera that does nice video but it doesn't auto-focus after you start recording, so I wanted something a little better. The Sony is "small enough" to carry around. Has image stabilization and a crazy zoom capability. I'm still just scratching the surface of the bells and whistles.

Turkeys! and ring-neck pheasants, and those crazy barn cats that shoot across the road for no apparent reason.
Lance Milan (AKA: You choose one of twenty or more names) ZN150T-F. That was just before I realized I had my sliders in wrong, so yeah probably around 40 is all it would muster on that rollercoaster road. Even holding it WOT for miles you gain some on the downhill and then lost it all on the uphill.
Camera was chest mounted so that wasn't necessarily representative of what I could actually see, or not see, which wasn't much. Video was fun though. I need to do more. Glad you liked it.

Way out past where the blacktop ends.
I'd rather take my chances with the deer and the rabbits.
