Just wanting to see if anyone is from SOUTH C

I dunno bro, But its run great from day one, very quick take off speed etc.. I know 2 other guys that got some around the same time from the same place, and they also run between 40 and 45.. So its not just me and my "special" scoot..


Im gonna do the GPS app thing though, and see how accurate it is according to that..

Iv already said i had someone in a car doing 45mph an i was riding rite along side them.. It probly is just more CC than 50cc.. thats what iv had 3 ppl say IRL and now on the forums

Thanks Bud, Yea I didnt know really how to respond when i was being told i was BS'n and all.. Like i really just wanted a little advice, and gave my current status of the scoot.. But yea everyone here seems really cool and allot of knowledge here.. At this point i can say for sure im getting 45 MPH out of it, as i said i had a car ride along beside me doing 45 and i was rite there with him, But anyway Yea I really like these forums ..


Even though i did not really like being told i was Not being truthful, i can understand why ppl would say that giving most only go 35 from what im told.. So i guess i Lucked up and should be greatful i get the speed i get..

I was just wanting to get it up to 60 but not at the cost of burning the engine up.. Id much rather have it alive then drive fast for a few months.. I thought about getting a 150cc but then im gonna have to get insurance an register it , and would i need a regular Motorcycle L for this? Or just a scooter L?

The whole reason im scooting around at this time is driver L is suspended due to paying over 2grand in tickets late, and was charged 100 bucks for each ticket that was late, coming up to 900 bucks or soo.. But thank god they have a Program here in SOUTH CAROLINA, WHERE i live, that says if u owe over 500 etc u can pay 15% of the whole amount and they will give me a full DRIVER L for 6 months, but during that time i have to pay it off.. Not to mention i have to get SR22 NOW, for a stunt a pulled in 09 july 4th, got bluelighted, and was in my fathers truck, he was having money issues then so i did not want him to have to pay a towing fee, of 250buck! SO i just drove on and which i was only 3 miles from my home, never sped off, but when i got in my yard i jumped out an ran, got away an stayed clear for a year, so when i got caught an went to court after pleading guilty i got a letter telling me before i get my DRIVER L gotta get SR-22.. Which im gonna get and claim Non owners ,or something like that, meaning i dont own a car, just gonna switch the car i buy with my Tax money in fthers name, to keep the sr 22 an insurance down.


Anyway, I dont have a smart phone with that GPS app, BUT im getting one soon as tax return comes in, iv got a fat check coming, already filed and all, an was told i will have it by feb21st... Good chatting with everyone..

it was only 2 times i got it this fast, the road i was on is somewhere i dont travel much, and i just decided to see if it would run any diff on a long road..

Iv had a car pull up beside me, Because i said myself I just dont think its correct readings, and sure enuff my buddy said yea your doing 45 rite now...


I agree with the tempting fate, i normally only travel and cruse around town doing 40 or soo, i just like to cruise..

I thought about putting a GPS on it, but would u agree that its worth the money to add one?

Also How many miles do you guys get from a Gallon on your scoots?

I agree TAO TAO;s seem damn good

I have no reason to lie , What would i gain from it, i was just telling my experience, iv only hit 50mph 2 times, it had the mph needle burried in the other side.. Its was a long stretch of road, very long, Next time i go that way im gonna take my camera and take a Pic to prove that it did hit 50, or it said it was..


I never expected more than 35 to 38MPH, There is another guy with a TAO TAO just a different style and we raced for fun, and he topped out at 38 he said, and i got a good little bit ahead of him..

Im not a young kid just making lies to sound "cool" Its not the type person i am.. But like i said iv only got the MPH needle burried to the other side 2 times..

But no issues running 45 to 48mph at all.. Which im happy with but was just wondering if any small things could give it better performance. Even if it did not make it run faster..

Trust me I was SURPRISED AS HELL myself, but It is a quick little scoot! lol, I mean it doesn't take forever to get up to speed, it takes of nice an quick an gets it up to the speed i want it in no time..


If you guys feel im BS'N, well then thats OK, i know what im reading an running.. A small engine repair shop said ,clearly it has more CC than u bought, like u said he also said they normally run 35... Anyway happy riding everyone

Thanks for the replys, I just read that putting a round air filter on the carb gives it more air in return a little more speed, i know it would run cooler..

And To those saying im Lying ,What reason would i have to lie? I came here an gave the info and was looking for help guys, IM not a young dumb kid trolling.. I have no issue at all getting up to 45 to 47 and on a long stretch I max the needle all the way to the 50mph 2 times, Im not saying i can make it run 50mph every day, No not at all..

But I have not one issue getting it to 45 47mph. Im a pretty Light guy as well, dunno if that has anything to do with it.

But when i went and got the scooter tag from a atv store that sells them, of course it just says (scooter) I told the guy i was hitting 45 easy, and he said the same thing as another Poster about its very possible it could be more CC then what it claims, and that its not unheard of for the Tao Tao's coming from the factory or to sometimes do this..

I also thought the same thing as someone mention, maybe its just registering at 45 but not really going that Fast, So i had my buddy ride beside me in his car and sure enuff it did in fact run 47 MPH..

I have absolute nothing to gain by lying, again i came here looking for some advice, not people telling my im FOS.

Im not the type of Person to just claim something that is not true.. Its no need for it and makes no sense, To all of you who posted again thank u for the advice im very grateful.

If any one else reads this let me know what u think about the Air filter comment.. It was something i came across and read, so just wanted to know if it was true..

I read allot of PPL say that TAO TAO are worthless and not worth it, I paid $720 bucks for mine with free shipping back in NOV, and its run great~~!!! No problems or issues at all.. Iv only got about 600 miles on it. But when i get my Taxes back im thinking of just buying a 83 Yamaha in Mint condition, i forgot the name of it, but it only has 19k miles on it.. For 900 bucks.. Anyway Thnks guys..

And I came SOOO close to buying A BBK some of the research i did claimed the type i had was good for a BBK.. But if you guys have been running scooters years longer than me i will take your advice, I def dont wanna do anything to ruin its life span. Why do ppl bash on TAO TAO so much? I guess i just liked up and got a good one.

Yea We wouldn't wanna waste our $ on a damn good scoot for only 700 to 1000 depending on Brnd CC etc, We should all buy 3grand and up Motorcycles.. LOL.. Really dude?? Like someone else said i'll get a BMW sticker and add it to my scooter and im good to go!!


I dunno bout you all, but i got a scooter cause i found one for a great price, my truck is a GAS HOG, and not to mention my DRIVERS L is suspended until i can pay off $1500 in late tickets to the DMV, I swear they get all they can out of you, Its bad enuff to get hit with HIGH priced tickets, then after paying those off if it was not on time the DMV charges 100 bucks each late paid ticket. So until my Tax's come in, and i Buy myself this 95 mustang iv got a great deal talked out on, only a little side front panel damage IM scooting around!
NOT TO MENTION I LOVE RIDING MY SCOOTER! lol..

Iv got a VIP Black/Sil;ver 50cc cy-50 Taotao an surprisenly i get 45 to 47MPH, 2 OR 3 times iv even hit 50.. Nothing added or changed from the stock but spark plug.. So even after i get this new used car and my DL back, i will damn sure be using my scooter to ride around town, I call it my GG=Grocery getter..lol
