Looks to me like it works something like the JCosta variator.

It it has 2 wheels and a gasoline engine it's a motorcycle in Texas and requires a full class M motorcycle license, insurance, registration, motorvehicle inspection and must be operated on the street. On the shoulder or sidewalk they could give you a ticket. Robb

I think the real limiting factor will be the brakes. If you have a 5" rim and the drum brake fits inside, so it's maybe a 4" drum brake. Good luck and ride safe whatever you decide. Robb

Some credit card companies give an automatic warrantee extension if you purchase with their card and even offer even longer warrantees if you elect to pay for them. My capitol1 card did. I think it's worth looking in to. Robb

And nobody knows how many trillions of cubic feet of natural gas they have flared off [burned]. They still burn off the natural gas if it's impractical to run a pipeline to the well or if it's impractical to set up a generator for electricity on the spot. Or if it is deemed that there isn't a market for the gas or electricity generated . Alot of needless pollution and energy going to waste. A sad state of affairs. Robb

The scooterworks page is poorly set up, the copy poorly written and it's mislabled as aluminum. Of course it isn't the only 61mm in the US. I think they meant to say the only 61mm in the US that doesn't require boring of the case. I'd wager it is simply NCY's 59.5mm iron cylinder bored out with 61mm piston. Whether it's good or not will likely depend on the metalurgy. A cage camshaft is usually hard and can snap like glass. A good conecting rod will bend instead of snap. The question is; how hard is the cylinder? Robb

I have seen the dyno for that kit. It showed 11 hp! with stock head and 90 jet. It was on scooterworks but they seem to have pulled it. Scooterworks has it listed as aluminum but it is actually iron. I would think think that a cast iron cylinder of any given thickness could be much stronger than an identical aluminum one depending on the heat treating. It looks like a fast, significant, displacement gain. Whether it's good or not ; I think it depends on NCY's metalurgy. Robb

I have 2 Dewalt sawsalls, 3 dewalt drills, flashlight....all 18V and no good batteries for them. I have found that it's cheaper to use corded tools [ they are more powerful also ] and buy a small generator [ coleman powermate 1.5 KW works fine ] for when no power is available. I of course took the batteries apart when they were first going bad. They look to be connected by a printed circuit. If you must go cordless I recommend ryobi; batteries are much cheaper. Robb

I'm absentee on these. They are in N.Dakota and I'm in Ft.Worth. I'm thankful that nobody is drilling near me for the same reasons you stated. Robb

I went to a restaurant with my brother and his significant other. We had them put it all on one check. One of us got the senior discount and I'm afraid it was me, and I'm the youngest. I guess it's true.....it's not the years , it's the miles! Robb

I saw where someone painted the face of their mechanical speedo to reflect the actual speeds. Could work on some scooters. Robb

I have tiny, tiny, fractions of interest in 7 oil wells in ND that have been pumping oil for up to 3 1/2 years for the oldest well. I've been trying to collect the money for the last 9 months. The largest impediment to getting paid is that my brother and I didn't sign the leases so all the proceeds belong to us less the cost of production + a 50% penalty of production costs. As of 3 months ago they were still trying to get us to sign leases, for wells that have been pumping oil for years already. Some of the leases look pretty attractive to me cash strapped as I am. I am sure they would pay them swiftly too, but I know they owe me more than the leases already and I don't want to be paid a lesser amount out of my own money they are already holding. Mostly the oil co's have been telling me they don't know me, but a week ago one of the law firms for one oil co. admitted that we own a share of that wells oil. Nice because the same co operates 3 of the other wells also. I still have to have my lawyer notify the oil co's that I want to be paid but the Dunn co. recorders office can't seem to get my original copies of my deeds in the mail, although they faxed my lawyer the deed showing it properly recorded 3 weeks ago. I'm running out of hoops to jump through. I'm not an oil and gas lawyer to be giving advice, but I would be more than happy to tell you where you can find information on the web. Oil co's don't play fair. They hire landmen who will tell the most outrageous lies to get you to sign a lease. Be warned, and do your homework if you are approached to lease your mineral rights. Robb

Always nice when someone tells you you are #1. Oh wait, wrong finger! Just tell them they have neither the looks nor the money. I never mind pulling over and letting people by if I safely can. If I were in a hurry they likely wouldn't be piled up behind me. Robb

Dannicus; I will grant that if he wasn't reaching peak power and needed to turn more rpms to reach it lower gears may actually make him go faster. It would certainly help him get there quicker. Jake can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's looking for a speed increase with hopefully a longevity boost without losing all drivability. Lowering your gears so you could go faster just puts you closer to the point at which you will decellerate swiftly to 0mph. The only wheeled vehicle I know of that reaches top speed at peak power is a powered dolly that is used by nasa to take rockets from the hanger to the launch pad at 1mph or less. All others I have seen will accelerate past peak power. They would be slow if they didn't. I suppose a turbine car could reach top speed at peak power but I don't think a turbine would be a practical engine for a scooter. Dannicus, I think you lost me when you said top speed at peak power. Could you elaborate on that so I can understand what you are getting at ? I'm willing to learn something new, but top speed at peak power goes against all of my real world observations. Robb
