I've got to tell you this story that is true. A couple of years ago, I needed a break from the everyday rat race. So, I told the wife to pack her bags, we were going to visit the folks in North Fort Myers, Fl.
The visit was going great so I offered to take them to dinner. We left in the early afternoon visited a few friends and my mother said that we should go, she was getting hungry. We ended up at a nice restaurant and ate at 4:15. Now let me ask some of you, Why do people in their mid 80's eat so early?
Anyway, My dad was driving north on Rt. 2 out of F.M. and he was doing around 35 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. Double yellow lines in the middle and we had about 3 miles to go. Now this was the 5:30 traffic and it was backed as far as I could see in the mirror. The traffic behind us we're honking and honking. My mother said to my dad, " Don't you here the cars behind us honking"? Of course he said " What"? (Can't here either).
Finally, our turn off was near and as we were turning, cars were honking and giving us the finger, the fist, and the up yours salute.
Wouldn't you know it, my dad ask my mom, " Do we know those people, their waving at us". ( I busted out laughing.)
