so true BUT i'd like to know where the fuse is leading to that part. i am now thinking that's the problem for my non-working blinkers, out now for more than 2-1/2 years of the 3 yrs i've had it!!

Sadly, I have the same problem just after a few months of ownership though i have a chinese scooter. Even though i have the part, the blinkers still dont work, so i think it's a fuse somewhere, but i cannot figure it out not being a mechanic. shops wont look at a chinese scooter so for years now been using hand signals. Hey!! am getting arm exercised!! this isn' much help but been seeing a of of scoots on the streets of San Francisco using hand signals. hoping you can get it resolved soon. those buddy scoots look very nice!!

Hola again!! Thanks to everyone who assisted me in getting my scooter running again. At long end charging/jumping off the car did/din't work. Would start right off while cables were attached; once removed it wouldn't start at all. Not enough charge on the battery to crank. Even sitting overnight charging did not help at all. I ended up buying the Tenergy Smart Universal Charger for NiMH / NiCd Battery pack 7.2V - 12V with charging current Selection/Temperature Sensor at Amazon. It arrived within 3 days and read instructions, which were quite simple. It is really made for radio-controlled models' batteries, but hey.... I hholed it up and was happy to see the red charging light display right away. I figured I check on it again after an hour, BUT actually returned to look at it while charging red still about 15mins later. The red light was still lit. I tried cranking the scoot and of course it started right away. At the moment the engine started, the red light changed to green indicating fully charged and all within 15mins!! I've been riding the scoot almost everyday since, riding to about 20mins in distance. Not one problem starting but now I really need to figure out where the spark plug is so I can change that. This bike hasn't had any serious maintenance done in the three years I've had it. No shops will look at it, and charge HUGE fees for doing nothing!! Thanks again everyone!!

ok, you guys have convinvced me to pick up a charger. remember i am also in Spain and found this online. do you think this would suffice for my use in charging a scooter battery. i have NO idea how many amps a scooter 12v battery has. but i've ordered this already, and as it's dual voltage i can take it to Spain with me!! yaaay www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Smart-Universal-Charger-Battery/dp/B001AVUAVC/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1439168091&sr=8-28&keywords=12v+battery+chargerthanks again everyone for your input NOTE: I forgot to mention what happened when i recharged (or tried) the scooter battery thru jumper cables with a car. sitting four hours when i disconnected the cables it tried weakly to crank but did not. i didn't try any more because i didn't want to kill the battery completely. so, NOW it doesn't leak but i continue with the battery problem. i am sure the battery is good thence getting a charger so i don't need to inconvenience anyone. thanks again

thanks again Alleyoop - got it all done and NO gas leak. yaaay jumped scooter and started right up. yaaaay disconnected jump cables and won't start. booooooo tried again after cables were connected 20+ mins and still will not crank on its own. so let me ask this: I tried several times again after cables were connected 20+ mins and with scooter engine running, and it still will not crank on its own. so let me ask this: a. Once scooter is started via jumper cables, can battery be charges after I drive around like a car? b. Can I leave scooter with jumper cables connected to a car over night and will this charge the battery? Will this KILL the car battery it's connected to? 1. If so, should I have the ignition ON? Or ignition OFF? Considering I was planning to take a long drive to charge the battery on its own, now am scared that once cranked via jumper cables, I ride somewhere and get stuck because once I turned off engine, the battery won't start the engine again. any suggestions will be appreciated. i have only had this problem of leaving keys in ignition twice. once battery was charger thru a battery charger, it was okay. thanks!!

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I haven't removed the hose or spring on the hose at all. i found a zip tie and will use that. i just need to figure out how to start engine with a dead battery. i've tried the kick start a few times just to test it and have never been able to start engine using the kick start option. even in europe/spain i've never seen anyone having luck using that kickstart. is it there method i can start a scoot with a dead battery without charging the battery again? sigh thanks again

Alleyoop Have it tied off though not very good as I cant get it tight enough around the flexing hose. looking for a tie that should do the trick. gas not leaking BUT now trying to start engine still wont start easily and battery is dying. i dont have a battery charger arrrrgggh!! reReading the above, so it doesn't matter if i kink and tie it off and NOT reconnect the hose to where it's leaking right now? Nothing needs to top off the hose inlet where this hose would normally go?

Alleyoop thanks again. I was thinking just leaving it connected and tying it off. if it gets hard to do (lying on back of course on ground) i just might remove to kink it. thanks again!!!

Thanks to ALL who participated in this thread! The military life isn't great or grand (though at times it may seem that way!). I spent 20 years in the Navy and experienced good, great, terrible and bad times, but I would do it all again. Please, if you see ANYONE in uniform, it takes just a second to walk over, shake their hand and say something nice. I do, to ALL in uniform, police, fireman.... you get the idea. These people who work for our health, safety and security and get very few likes during their workdays, BUT when something happens, they gotta be there for you!! Like insurance, it's an expensive unliked chore to pay/maintain till the one day something happens and you are glad you had/have it! That's the women and men of OUR Military, police forces, and so many other professions. If you also served, THANK YOU for your service, and to your family for their patience and sacrifices.
