Thanks cookees. I'm not a bike guy. Scoots are more my thing. Easier to ride for my courier job. So unfortunately the seller sold it on me. So the hunt will continue. I'm hoping to pick up a Honda. So I've found a few more. Just not as close to me. Thanks for all the info and help. Thanks.

So it is a real Honda. I've been playing email tag with the seller. Not sure if he's really wanting to sell it or what the story is. Thanks.

Is a big bore kit worth putting in now when I'm into this big of a tear down? Thanks.

Ok thanks. Would a compression test help diagnose this? Or can I see other things to point to crankshaft? Before I do a tear down. Thanks.

Ok. I replaced the starter clutch. The oil gear as well. The stator too (damaged the other one). Put her all back together. She started up right away. Problem is, the noise is still there. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes alleyoop. You were helping me in another post I did. By the picture can you tell what style of stator I need? Thanks.

I was trying to remove the bell and stator in order to get at the starter gear. I used the wrong to. I damaged some of the coil it looks like. The flywheel puller came today. The bell came right off. The scooter is a 150cc. Thanks. Mike

Is there a way to tell which stator I need without removing the flywheel? I've ordered the flywheel remover tool (waiting for it to arrive). Still waiting on starter gear to arrive as well. I'd try to remove the flywheel the other day (with another style remover), I couldn't get it off. Now the scoot won't start, and I'm afraid I may have damaged the stator. I have little to no spark. Thanks.

Ok thanks Alleyoop. Is there anything else I should replace since I'm in there? I heard possibly the oil pump? Is it still safe to ride? Are these common to fail? I appreciate all the help. Thanks.

Ok. I just videoed the flywheel. It appears to be spinning off center. I take it that's not normal. Thanks.

Ok. So I got some time today. I removed the variator. Examined it all. Then I ran the scoot with the variator and belt off. The noise remains. Thanks.

So the new weights are 18x14. The old ones are are 17.8x14. The sound is still there when I rev it. The plastic guides are good still. Going to tear into it more tonight. Thanks.
