I was thinking about this last night. All you have to do is order the correct voltage array and install them however you can. Since they are going to last a long time you could even glue them in place... I don't drive my scoot long enough at WOT to charge my battery and need a tender every couple weeks. This would solve the problem surely. It is actually very easy to order or make a driver/voltage regulator to power high power LED's also. You could order some CREE LED flashlights from ebay or amazon and use the LED arrays from them. A cheap way to light your tail lights and blinkers would be to just cut a LED Christmas light line up into maybe 6-12 LED's per string and hook them up to the wires going to the existing bulbs. Just experiment with min/max lights per string to find optimal brightness... You could then secure them into place in a pattern, like a strait line or a circle inside the light covers. It would look pretty nice.

Thank you for all of your help! It would bog when cold and under load with the stock carb and now with the new carb also. I will mess with the mix screw and see if I can straiten it out.
Edit: Is it possible the enricher is adding too much fuel? Is there a way to bypass it completely or tune how much it affects the carburetor? Since the Fuel Mixture screw only affects idle; I don't see how it can change my bogging down. It only bogs down under load when twisting the throttle to accelerate while engine is not completely warmed up. Going to WOT from a stop should engage the needle and main jet. Being as it bogs down at any position of the throttle (above idle), that means something else is causing the rich fuel state. Once warm this does not happen... This could have been my problem the whole time. I can't wait 3-5 min for the enricher to close the extra fuel port every time I start my scooter. That is just ridiculous. I live in Florida; it is nice and hot here 11 months of the year...

Thank you for the quick reply. It starts right up every time. I don't notice the vacuum line being wet, but it could be sucking gas when I'm going through the RPMs and its dry by the time I get off and look at it. I'll have to check it on the center stand and run it while I watch tomorrow when I have more light. I read a thread you answered about the enricher. I don't think this is a problem though, because it runs high RPM at startup for a min or two then drops down to a nice soft idle. Should I still check the enricher? Or, is does this sound like normal operation for it..? I should get all of my parts by Monday.
P.S. The air box is dry.
Edit: If I take off before it is warmed up all the way, it does bog down real bad until its warmed. Could this be the problem? Do you really wait the full 3-5 mins before you take off every time you drive your scooter? I thought the bogging down might have something to do with the electric choke being on and/or the enricher still being activated...
P.S.S. I was born in Southern IL, then moved to Chicago, and later to Saint Charles/Elgin area

Hi,
So, I bought a 2013 50cc TaoTao ATM50-A1 (1P39QMB) scooter. I bought it from Pinellas Power Sports for $999 out the door plates and all! They adjusted my valves, added a Gates belt, changed both oils, and installed an NGK spark plug. It ran great, but I let someone ride it and they dropped it. Broke a brake handle nothing serious. I brought it back to the shop and they fixed it and I had them do a second oil/gear oil change at 600 miles. Since then it had a slight oil leak; just drips where I parked it, nothing serious and the oil level never dropped below the fill zone.
Recently I moved and it started to not idle. It wouldn't keep running without me revving it. So, I figured this would be a good time to have an adjustable carburetor installed. My vacuum line from the intake to the petcock was ripped so they replaced it and a 20mm carb was installed and tuned. It runs great again! 45-50 MPH on straightaways and in traffic! I filled it up and over the course of 3 days, I only went 50 miles and it was empty!? So I started reading up online. I took out the dipstick and sure enough the oil smells like gas :/ So, I bring it back to the shop and they pull the carb apart. They said the float isn't sticking and the needle is seated properly. So, I bring it home, it still runs great, and I thought maybe they fixed the problem when they pulled it apart. I fill up with gas again and park it for the night.
The next morning I take the scoot to work and come home. Just for the hell of it I check my oil level with the dipstick. Checked with the bike on the center stand and without screwing the dipstick in, it shows over full to the top. Like the entire dipstick is thin liquid that smells like raw gas. Further investigation online points to the Petcock. I have ordered a replacement petcock, fuel/vacuum lines, fuel filter, and clamps. I have purchased oil to do the oil change myself, after replacing the fuel system with the new parts...
My question is; Do you guys think the problem is the petcock? What else could cause gas to get into my engine? Is there anything else I should do in addition to the oil change, to prevent engine damage from the gasoline entering the oil and being driven that way?
Any information you great people could provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
