IDK whose to say what CDI's are bad but who knows what ones are good they're on ebay from a range of 2 dollars to 20 or 50. Does the price matter that much this one was 12 dollars, which isn't a lot but if you gotta keep buying them to try to get a good one, just wish I knew someone around me with a scooter to test parts to know if they are good, or even a fourwheeler or something that takes the same cdi box idk most of the one's I see are wire cdi's on everything my friends own.

I just still can't wrap my head around the fact that when the pick up coil is unplugged that the ignition wire still does the 30v-0v diminishing when it shouldn't even put out the 30v to begin with. The face that it does the same whether it's plugged in or not. Only difference is no spark when unplugged.

The red wire on the valve cover is a wire i used to extend a ground i probably shoulve went with white or black. Yes that is a new racing cdi i bought 6 wire but it only uses five like the stock one

Like i said before i thought maye a switch was bad and putting the yellow wire power through the ground, maybe sounds stupid but maybe enough, like maybe power fedding back through the ground and shorting the cdi out. Not sure how you would be able to test that though cuz i have unplugged all the plugs in the front and it still had weak spark. Idk just keep thinking its something really stupid

I understand what you mean but no I have the right wires plugged in there because I broke one and had to put my own connector from work on the stator wire so I can't confuse them

I cut the wires leading into the plug for the cdi box on my harness and put shrink tube quick connectors on so I could unplug them and test them. I wire trucks all day so don't worry no problem with them they are color matched back to original wire and connecting right.

unless the wires on the cdi are in the wrong spot I did see about Chinese harness you could buy that they had wires in the wrong places on some plugs
