I have seen this go both ways.. I noticed on my Linhai Roketa MC-54-250b there was grease in there but some threads on here hand videos on YouTube say it should be dry. Which is it? Having a blast driving it around but I need to ditch the stock tires on it soon, going with shinko SR586 tires. Also couldn't stand the bright red decals on the back plastic's so had to fix that with some new vinyl decals. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

I think I solved the problem. Was going over it again today using my trusty Harbor freight meter because i didn't have a battery for my Fluke meter i would have normally used. On a whim I opened up the HF meter and put the 9V that was in it in the fluke... 14.5v at the batt, WTH? put the battery back in the HF meter it reads 13v at the batt... do I feel stupid... as each component was testing OK. I'm still curious tho as what could be causing the head lights to get brighter when the brake is pulled or the fan turns on. The battery in the scoot is the one that was in it when i bought it so i don't know its history.
Alleyoop, Where abouts in IL are you at if you don't mind me asking? I'm just north of Rockford.

Yellow wires to the R/R all read 30v AC at idle. Not sure on the batteries age...

I'm back.. replaced the R/R with a new one and get 13v at the battery and it falls as rpms increase. I'm going to replace the blocking diode with a relay and see if that changes anything. Other than this it runs great and have been having a blast on it! One thing I noticed tonight i found strange. If I hit the brakes the headlights get a little brighter, if the cooling fan comes on it has the same effect. Almost like a extra load is pulling more juice out of the system, if that makes sense.. any clues on this?

Grab it and take your time with it. This is my $150 motorcycle: Before: And after: It took me over the winter and about another $500. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Yes there is a diode but from reading another thread I jumpered the two wires going to it to rule it out and still had the same results with the voltage dropping.

Ok so I picked up this scooter this weekend.. After a carb clean and tune its running great! However... Put the volt meter on the batt while running to watch the voltage. 12.5 at idle, rev it to 3k and I watch as the voltage falls?? Has anyone had this happen? I'm just going through it and doing a through pdi as its new to me and working out any kinks..

I just picked up a Roketa MC-54-250b this weekend and while ot has a radio/mp3 player on it I'm looking to replace it. My helmet I use for riding my motorcycle has a Sena smh10 Bluetooth headset in it. I few times a week I'll be using the Roketa for a 40 minute each way commute and I'd like to be able to listen to the radio in my helmet. Its easy to pair a phone with a radio and listen to the music on your phone through the stereo but I do t think it will work the other way. So I'm looking for a radio that would work on the scooter and have Bluetooth audio out on it. Something like this would be awesome... But no Bluetooth on it.. Worst case I get a Bluetooth adapter and wire it into the stock Roketa system but I know there has to be something like I'm looking for out there... Darren Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Well I went to look at it today and it followed me home! Looks good few dings and scratches. Runs pretty good, carb needs a good cleaning.. Wants to stall a little when coming to a stop. I'm going to do my own complete PDI even tho it has 2400 miles on it.. Thanks everyone for the tips! Greatly appreciated!

I'm going to let ok at a Roketa MC-54-250b on Saturday. I know from reading so far what I am getting into with a Chinese scooter. I am a pretty mechanically inclined person having overhauled snowmobile and motorcycle engines. But just would like to know if there is anything obvious I should be watching out for.. The seller has it priced lower than others on craigslist.. Here is a shot of it, body looks to be in pretty good shape.. Its just the stuff under it that is the unknown..
