Hi. I installed 6x20g 24X18 size rollers to my Jonway 250 (Honda clone engine). Also I made some mods. There is two places where exhaust is restriced. One is exhaust pipe (bolted to engine), inside welded ring. I file away this ring so pipe size enlarged 23mm-27mm (If I remembered correct size). Second place is muffler inlet pipe where you can see stop ring for muffler gasket. See this topic second image, I enlarged that hole to 27mm also. Carburetor original size main jet was #102 and I change it to #110. (Original size in Honda Helix). Finally I added 3 pcs Uni filter air box vent for better engine breath. . This mod and bigger roller size made huge difference to my Jonway. Fuel consumtion enlarged little. 3,3ltr/100km -> 3,8ltr/100km -arska-

Vibration

Hi. I think I found reason for my Jonway 250c (15500km on it) engine vibration and little knocking in low rpm, about 3500-3800rpm. Listen this video Jonway 250cc knocking. I think connecting rod cause this knocking. Otherwise the engine will run smoothly in higer rpm. I changed engine oil regulary, every 1000km. I used synthetic oil 5W-40 every time. Is that oil too thin. Should I use 10W-30 mineral oil? - Arska -

Hi.
Check rear shock absorbers and mounting bushes if they are worned. Check center stand bolts if they are loosened.

Hi. I changed all bearings to gear box and all resonance is gone. Scooter manufacturer had installed needle bearing to wrong position. In scooter transmission there is oil channel for needle bearing lubrication and needle bearings lubrication hole was wrong align for that channel. This cause insufficient lubrication and damage for needle bearing. Also input shaft was slightly worn. I applied Loctite Retaining Compound for this shaft and let it dry over night. Now variator belt run very smooth without vibration. -arskal-

Hi all.
My scooter has begun vibration while acceleration. I changed a new variator belt and this didn't help. Variator rollers were in very good condition. Next I checked engine mount bumper and there was a nut little loose. I tightened it and helped little but did not solve that problem. I took off CVT cover and started engine and revvinged. While rpm rised to 4500 vibration/resonance started and I saw that clutch bell was shaking and clutch pulled out form gearbox about 1mm. Damn. I removed gearbox cover and checked bearings. Transmission input shaft bearings were worned. Tomorrow I'll buy new bearings and repair gearbox. I dont know why bearings were worned because I have serviced scooter regulary. Every 1000km.
This vibration caused also rear suspension spring shaking. Like "rumrumrumrumruuumruuuuum".
Wait and see until I have repaired gearbox does this service solved that vibration problem. Im sure about this.

The best way is go to the car paint seller. They use color-scanner for analyze correct paint color. I did that way when I painted my Jonway 250 scooter. Example in Finland, this costs only 30€ and color was exactly the same tone. I recommend to use 2-3 layer clear coat for protect paint.

I think I must install spot type work light that the lights do not dazzle oncoming traffic and use these only with high beam. I found very good installation example from SilverWing forum. Link here

Hi.
Is there anyone installed additional lights for scooter. If so, what kind of LED lights recommend and how did you installed?
I have no issue with scooter charking so I want add additional lights to my Jonway 250.

Voltage lost solved.
I opened wire harnes and installed extra wire from R/R to fusebox and from fusebox to ignition switch. Also from ignition switch to battery. At the end I installed relay for ignition switch. Now all poor wires and contacts is very good. When head lights is on, charging voltage is 14.32V with idle and does not rise with higher rpm. When cooler fan and headlight is on, voltage is 13.35V with idle and rise to 13.90V in higher rpm. R/R is original china quality.

Today I remove all covers and opened wiring harness and followed wires where they was connected. From battery positive -> directly to ignition switch and clock. R/R both wires get power from ignition switch. Here is Photoshopped wiring diagram. You can see difference. -arskal-

Hi.
I have Jonway 250 -08 with Honda Clone engine. I have been driving two years with this bike without charging problem. Actually, I have not paid attention to the charging because I have no battery drain problem at all. Today I checked how this scooter charges. Idle rpm voltage is 14.4V and higher rpm it drop to 13.2V and stays there. When I put jumper wire alongside the R/R red wire, charging voltage goes up to 14.4V and is stable in idle and higher rpm. There is somewhere weak contact, I think.
Wiring diagram shows that R/R red wire goes to battery positive terminal. but I'm little confused with one thing. This R/R red wire does not go directly to battery positive terminal via 15A fuse in my scooter. It seems to be connected to ignition switch. When I switch ignition on, both wires , red and black are energized. When ignition is off, both wires are not connected. In my scooter, driving light is on when I switch ignition to on.
Has somebody encoutered this type of R/R wiring.
Best regards Ari

Hi.
I measured current consumption when the scooter is turned off. Scooter takes 0.022A (22mA). Only clock is on, when scooter is turned off. Normal current consumption must be under 50mA. If it is bigger, battery drain fast to empty.

Yeah. Good idea put a manual switch alongside the thermo switch. This way you can ensure engine healty, if thermo switch broken while driving.
By the way. In this thermo switch there is a mark 60-ON. This switch is okay, but too low engage temperature.
