With all things being equal a vertical engine is a better design too. Ooooh! Do tell all. I have been wanting to learn and hear feedback about this in particular as it relates to the 250cc motors. What makes it a better design? Not trying to fan any flames here, just tryn' a learn.

For one thing the wear on the piston is much less, in the horizontal engine the piston lays on its side having gravity working against it.

Theoretically, mind you, a vertical engine has the piston moving up and down without gravity making one side take it's weight and putting more wear on the bottom surface. Of course BMWs seem to defy that so it may be more science than reality.

Mx matt I talked to them Internet sights trying to be a sales man or women. I didn't find them very helpful ether mabey you did. Yeah that part when you ask if there there is weird. If there based inn California that is still a heck of a way to get your scooter there if you have problems. Wow it really gets that hot in Arizona huh. I thought you ordered a new 250 I was excited to hear what you had to say about it? Good luck do your research before buying and by all means ask them questions good luck.
