me thinks i should get rid of the gf and cruize solo
and, it's a toy.i use it to cruize around town, pick up chicks, it's a one of a kind around here.

There should be a plate attached that has the GVWR stated on it. On my magnum is on the panel just under the handle bars. It states that the GVWR is 992 lbs.

My 150cc scooter has a dry weight of 253lbs and I weigh in at 220 and then I load it with all my camping gear so I would estimate about 575lbs wet with my riding gear and I do just fine, and IT'S ONLY A 150CC.

Let's see. 1000 pounds being pulled by 18 horsepower. A BMW S1000RR has 185 horse and weighs under 500 pounds. Hmmm. That's about 55 pounds per horse for the trike and 2.75 pounds per horse for the BMW.
Edit: I forgot to include a 200 pound rider on the BMW. It's 3.78 pounds per horsepower that way.

How much extra weight is added by the rear axle and wheels? The load capacity should be slightly higher than a similar two wheeled version as you now have two wheels to carry the load and you have stated the ride is harsh so, the rear suspension is probably stronger. Did the manufacturer upgrade the load rating with the triking?

Did the manufacturer upgrade the load rating with the triking? Dear Richard I believe you're assuming that someone in China gives a chit. Hell, I'm sure they just made a rear end, stuck it on there, and gave absolutely no thought to load rating, etc. I think the scooter (before modification to a trike) weight is 275 and this rear end added a couple hundred lbs to it. I think I saw something somewhere that said max weight 444 lbs. I was adding the weight of the scoot to show that this little 300cc beast (LOL) can get the scoot and my fat a$$ moving down the road at 60 +/-. Either way, it is what it is. It gets me on the road. I can keep up with traffic. It's a chick magnet. Life is good. Enjoy every day and ride safe D

Dave I like your positive attitude sound like a great guy. Yes you are right those trikes are a chick magnet. Glad a nice guy like you can pick them up and take for little rides around were you live. You are so positive and that is great for the sight. I look forward to this sight every day to try to help someone but there are a lot of people on here that have more knowledge than me when it comes to scooters. I have been very lucky my scooter has not given me many problems other than oil changes air filters and spark plugs. And I will not run the tank dry on gas due to hearing about other people getting there carbs clogged jets that way. So I try to listen to what others are saying to keep myself from having a problem I do not need. Thanks for the enjoy every day and ride safe you to chick magnet.

"pick up chicks" "chick magnet" You guys must live near an egg farm.
By the way how is that thing in the snow? We get a fair bit of that up here. I would think it might be better than one of those trailer-trikes.

Considering my ex brother in law is from Madison, I totally understand your lack of ability to pick up chicks And, for the snow, we got them trikes,called....Can Ams/snowplowmobile thingys Now get that sidehack and give those shaky knees a rest

The way I finger it, ya gotta have a positive attitude to stay alive. And the chicks get a ride to the house, and back where i found em I just started the scooter thing, outa necessity, but rode MC's for a long time before. I give advice where I can, and STFU when I'm outa my element, but hopefully learn along the way If I don't put a smile on someones face during the day, I keep trying. However, my girlfriend finds me boring. But, my kids love me. So, do what makes ya happy, and if the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy. May God Bless you and keep you safe on every ride Dave This is what keeps me going www.facebook.com/ARSGOCO
