My 150cc scooter has a dry weight of 253lbs and I weigh in at 220 and then I load it with all my camping gear so I would estimate about 575lbs wet with my riding gear and I do just fine, and IT'S ONLY A 150CC.

70 kph works out to about 42 mph and if his speedometer is anything like most scooter and motorcycle speedometers it is off anywhere from 5 to 20 percent (mine is off by 20%. 40mph is really 32mph.). Taking just 10% off he is probably going about 38mph. Well within the range of a 50cc.

I believe Luke swears by Marvel Mystery Oil (I may be wrong, not sure who it was). By the way I have not seen him here for some time. Tired of getting beat up?

Hey!! My 2008 Chuanl 150 Protégé Has been GREAT!!!! I bought it new in 2010 and have over 3500 miles on it with everything still original except the spark plug, windshield, and trunk. The tires are still fine (saw some cracks in the valve stems today), original belt still looks good and brakes are still good to. Yes I broke some tabs on some of the plastics and have had some problems with batteries and charging (mostly my fault leaving it out in the cold and forgetting to plug in maintenance charger). I even take it on camping trips to the High Uinta Mt's.(been as high as 10,000ft) with all my camping gear strapped on. I am a fanatic about changing the fluids and keeping it clean. It was bought on the internet and crate dropped to my home and I did my own pdi. Maybe I was lucky, but I like to think I have had something to do with it. So lets not use a broad brush and paint all 2008's the same. However since I am thinking about buying a larger scoot I do hope that as many have said the quality has come up since then. Either way (if I was lucky or quality has risen) I should be better off when I pull the trigger.

Great looking windshield. I just got a new one from a China on line site, $32.00 shipped. Let us know how it works out for you please. Mine seemed fine at first, then I took it on the hiway at 50 to 55 mph and it started to BEND in wind gusts and before I could slow down and get onto regular roads it cracked at one of the mounting holes. I have since fixed it with some epoxy and strategically placed new supports and now it works fine. The price and the fact that they are USA located makes me wish I had found Midwestmotorsports first like you. I will shortly post some pics of my mods to get it to function as it should have. Still all in all I'm happy with it and I was not going to spend $120 to $189 for one as most sites I found were selling them for until I knew I would like it and keep it on my scoot.

Hey Cooperhead. Always glad to see new people join the forum. I hope you have fun with your new scoot and this is the place to get help or advice you may need (even if it's not about scooters..he..he).

Yes Mark I not only added a Solid State Drive to replace my old hdd but also upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I'm sure cookies (not our "Cookees") were at least partly if not entirely responsible. I tried to migrate all I could over from my old hard drive, but it still took me 2 days to basically get back to where I was. Still as I mentioned I am glad I did the upgrade. Amazingly faster than before. Thanks JR. I appreciate it.

It's all good. After I finally got on the forum it only took me a few minutes to resurrect my avatar and I'm very happy with my upgrade. It's AMAZING how fast my computer is now with my NEW SAMSUNG 840 250GB solid state drive ($139.00 on sale at Amazon). About 15 to 20 seconds instead of one and a half to two minutes to initial boot up. It is definitely worth a little hassle. Oh and thanks to Bashan (or whichever Admin. for replacing my stars. Been here since 2010 and earned them.)

Wow!?!?! Just tried to log in after a week or so of upgrading my OLD (2009) computer and pro boards not recognizing me. I tried every user name and password combo I have ever used (not just on this forum) and nothing but an acknowledgement that my email address was recognized and my account had already been upgraded, but still would not allow me to log on to the forum or pro boards until I created a new account. So as you guys probably have guessed (DUH) this is still RG or my old user name rgmarsing (big change huh).
