Howdy folks. I'm new to scooters. I am something of a prepper. I always thought about one of those kits to motorize your bicycle. I thought it would be a great way to get around after TSHTF. Then, I stumbled upon a scooter ad. For a couple hundred more, I could get an entire scooter and not have to fool around with a conversion so I ordered a 49cc scooter. I really like it! Perhaps you could help me with a problem. I want to order some spares; however, I'm not sure exactly what I have. Under the kickstarter, on the engine is 1P39OMB. Directly underneath it is *B13101526*. Does this tell me any of the following information: short or long case; who the manufacturer is; displacement? Thanks in advance!

Engine type is on the top, engine number is on the bottom.

Right on Adam. Copperhead, you might want to read this article about engine codes. With Chinese scooters you use that more than anything to order parts. The model number and badges don't really mean that much. Nice to have you on board the good ship Scooter Doc. Rich

Welcome to the forum! It's funny; on my ride home yesterday, I was contemplating the pros and cons of using the scoot as a bug-out vehicle. I have a Red Rock large assault pack in which I haul all my books, computer, lunch, and water bottle to school...all with plenty of room to spare. I could easily use that as a bug-out bag in a WROL/SHTF situation. Between that bag and the on board storage, I think I could haul enough gear and food for 72 hours plus tools for hunting, building, and defense. Hmmmm... now what to do about this wife and these pesky kids...

Hey Cooperhead. Always glad to see new people join the forum. I hope you have fun with your new scoot and this is the place to get help or advice you may need (even if it's not about scooters..he..he).

Sage advice from everyone. I've been riding it everywhere and I hadn't planned on that! I can't wait until they start importing Chinese airplanes!
