they sure are fun when you take them riding on the dirt trails! Sometimes I wonder what I would do without my scooter. Me & my brother just got back from riding on some dirt trails we just discovered...sure, the engine was hotter than hell when we got out of them (because you have to rev the engine to get through the dirt, and seeing how they're forced air cooled and you're not moving very fast...), but it was still fun!
Does anybody else take their scooter out on the trails?

Glad to see you back you sound like a real dare devil. I take my scooter down a bike path to go fishing but don't rev it real high to make it through the path just a 15 mph cruze and it's all flat cars go down this path. I would not recommend doing trail riding with your scoot you are bound to have your scooter fail and will need to push back home. I don't recommend using your scooter for trail riding but who am I to tell you? If you don't mind taking the chance of screwing it up and living and learning than go for it. Have fun and be safe.

A small trail bike, or even the "rocket" like KZ rides is going to be a lot better suited for off road. The suspension is just barely adequate for city streets on a scooter much less on dirt. If you tweek the frame kiss her good by.

True that John! I bent a frame riding the Dragon's Tail in NC. I ended up parting the bike out, I could NOT get it straight again! Scooter frames are so odd, there's hardly any straight lines to reference off of. I know you can theoretically track the wheels with a string..I tried...several times.....didn't work. I'm glad you had a blast trail riding A of N, sounds fun bud. I went off road about ten years ago with a Suzuki 125 that had a dual speed rear sprocket. You could put it in road mode, or mountain. When you were in mountain you could crank about 10K RPM but be moving...oh let's say 1.2 MPH. But you could pull a stump going up a mountain. If I was going to go off road with a scooter though I think I'd go with something like this:

You guys! I don't mean extreme off roading with huge air and bumps! I'm talking about basic dirt trails that are relatively flat and don't have any potholes!! Not so much a daredevil as I like to enjoy the wilderness.
