synthethetc or regular oil. yea or nay or does it matter?

Regular oil is just fine 10w40, the thing is just change it at least every 1000miles because the oil and air is the only thing that keeps the temp down.

Whichever make you happy. We've had this digustion before and it can get violent. LOL
It really comes down to what you prefer. There is no real reason for one over the other.
Now if these engines were precision made and ported it would be different, but...

I just put Symthetic in my SYM....get it?...HAR! The argument is that the synthetics are so slippery they slip past the rings and burn up. So far I will say that hasn't happened on the SYM. Also, it's running like a scalded dog right now...MUCH faster. I did set the valves and put a new plug in too so who knows. OotY Scooty is the biggest SYM dealer in this country and he uses Rotella synthetic diesel oil in his service jobs. I'd say he knows a thing or two.

HERE WE GO AGAIN, i forget who used to say that. Maybe we can get into which GAS to use or what kind of AIR to put in the tires. Some of you must think you have a 500K Ferrari, what you have is a under 1K 1 cyl 2.5-8 hp lawn mower motor.

I don't believe it is possible in this day and age to buy packaged oil that is bad....from any where in the good ol USA

Just use regular oil...I've put Meijer 10W-40 Conventional Motor Oil in my scooter since day one (except for one time when we had Castrol GTX on hand and I was too lazy to go to the store) and my scooter runs great. I change my oil every 500-800 miles and it's still running great. I literally just changed my oil an hour ago with the Meijer oil (I had 826 miles on it and was BLACK BLACK BLACK!!). By the way kiddies, don't overfill the container that has bad oil in it, you may end up with oil all over your driveway and what looks like the BP oil spill going everywhere!
