Nothing in the screen: Here is the new vent hose/filter: And a grocery-bag holder clip: I plan on replacing the front plastic hook with one of those as well.

I added another grocery bag clip in the front where the stock plastic hook was. The nut that held the original bolt for the hook was in the way so I threaded a bolt into the nut and hammered away until the welds broke. As to be expected, poor welding. I also replaced the bolt the held the handlebars to the steering stem. The original one wobbled back-and-forth, making low speed maneuvers very difficult. I took the old one out, breaking (until I can try and repair it) a 1/4" ratchet in the process, and put in a new bolt and nut from the local hardware store. The wobble is now completely gone and the ride has improved greatly. I went for a quick ride to test out the new handlebar bolt, give the 5.3g weights another try, and to see if the new vent hose and filter would work. When I got back home I looked at the filter and there was barely anything in there. Admittedly, that was a very short ride, but I think the larger ID hose and bigger filter will work. I think the 5.3g weights are the best of the 3; with the 5g weights at top speed I was nearing 8.5k rpm and with the 6g weights the acceleration was sluggish. I would like to try out slider weights to see if there is any real benefit to sliders vs rollers. I'm debating on trying to repair the logitech steering wheel or just buying another one. The one I have now, I bought used from amazon so I have no warranty. It's a good thing I just bought an oscilloscope (or a bad thing, since it costs roughly what I paid for the wheel), I can do some diagnostics and see if I can find replacement ICs.

The steering wheel is beyond economical repair. The motor driver ICs are only available from china, they cost about $1 each, are only available in lots of 10 or more, and there are at least 2 of them that need replacing.
There is a wheel on ebay for about the same it would cost to attempt to repair mine.
Not much in the way of scooter related news, however I do have a question regarding sliders vs rollers. I have heard that if you want to replace, say, 5g rollers you should buy 6g sliders. Is this true?
I'm still looking at the ICs I might need for the AIO dash and tach.

I got the pump here. Just a note, if you do order from that site, make an account first; otherwise they won't send you an email with a tracking number. You can also find it on ebay by searching for "12 volt fuel pump".

Thanks glavey!
I wonder if this would help a 100cc bbk with the extra cooling of the oil

It would help with cool the oil, but if you add the oil filter with that pump, the flow rate really goes down. There are slightly more powerful pumps out there that shouldn't draw too much more power.
As it is now, with my LED taillights and all of the small 194 dash lights eliminated, with my 55w headlight on and the pump running, I have just enough voltage to charge the battery, so be careful with how much power the pump draws.
Also, no matter how cool the oil is kept, with a 100cc bbk your engine's internals, specifically the crank and the crank bearings will almost definitely fail sooner than if you had 72cc or smaller displacement.

Last night's splurge on ebay and digikey will hopefully get me a couple LED display drivers, a 5v regulator, 2x 2.4 GHz transceiver modules, a usb-to-serial adapter, a frying pan for my mother, 3x 8-bit shift registers, 2x I2C IO expanders, and 2x SPI 10-bit ADCs.
I just finished making an enchilada casserole (LOTS and LOTS of cheese!) so I'm gonna go stuff myself.
Edit:
Also, thanks to Bashan and tvnacman, I will have a koso variator (hopefully) some time next week.

I apologize for the lack of updates. Nothing bad has happened, I was simply lazy.
I got everything I ordered, including the variator that tvnacman shipped and Bahsan paid for, except for 2 things I ordered from china (The 2x transceiver modules, and the usb-to-serial adapter) but those aren't necessary to complete the project.
I installed the variator on my scoot and noticed that the drive ramps that the belt actually rides on is the same length, but the roller ramps are much different; on the koso they are much smother and gradual, where as on the stock unit, the ramps are more-or-less just chamfers at the edge of the variator.
I went our for a quick ride, < 2 miles. The carb was incredibly out of tune because of the temperature drop. Even with that, I could notice that the take-off was quite smoother; much less initial revup-then-settle than the stock variator. The whole scooter felt... smoother, somehow. The top speed with the very poor tune was abut 35, so I stayed on roads with a 25 mph limit and and just went about 2 miles around the neighborhood.
Hopefully, I will be able to take the scoot out again after I tune it up, weather and temperature permitting.
I fear that by the time I finish the tachometer and/or the AIO dash, the temperature outside will be prohibitively cold enough to make testing it impossible.
I have given thought to discontinuing work on this project until next spring. I will still probably work with the arduino and all of the bits that I have acquired for it throughout the winter on different non scooter-related projects so I can get more experience with programming and electronics in general.
I will still update this thread with any scooter-related news, and as always, if you have any questions/comments/complaints/cheese suggestions, feel free to post them here. I will be checking this thread almost daily.

It's good to hear things are moving along and understand about the weather. You probably won't need that oil cooler for a while. I wouldn't mind if you kept us informed about the electronics. You may come up with something I can use on model railroading that I'm trying to get back to. The best cheese suggestion I can give is to buy from North Eastern Wisconsin companies.

I've traveled through Wisconsin many-a-times when I was younger. I didn't stop very much for cheese, but I do remember once I bought some meat, sausage if I recall correctly, injected with cheddar cheese. That was like a second christmas.

A fun thing in wisc is to slowly go across the state on secondary highways, stopping at every cheese factory you come to and getting what ever their specialty is. Most places have other cheeses from other factorys but always get what ever they make. And then the sausage get a little of every thing and eat it on the way to the next place. Do not get any brand name cheese or sausage, its the same crap that's in the big grocery stores across the country..

Man, I cannot believe this. Another one of my family members is in the hospital with a terminal diagnosis.
I'm starting to think I should call this scooter the widow maker.

Very sorry to hear this.
But, why blame an inanimate object. We are fragile creatures.
