I agree with Alley, pull that stator out of there and get some close up pix so we can look at the config on that unit. THEN we can figure out what you should be getting off of those wires. I'm not sure an 11 coil would be plug and play and might require a lot of rewiring. Rich

I'll tell you what it is before he wastes his time to pull it out, typical 8-coil regular ground stator with the typical 4-pin R/R, all of the 07's use that. Now let's do some math if we may. He's got 21W tail light bulb and two 55W headlight bulbs = 131W and I'm betting 3 instrument light bulbs plus a license plate bulb at 5W each = another 20W for a total of 151W. He has 13.5Vdc with no lights and 12.55 with them on. So let's do some wattage trimming. He has two headlight bulbs one for low and one for high and we all know the lo beam is on all the time so he has choices here. If he rides at night a lot then he'll want to keep a good hi beam so leave it alone or reduce it to 45W which is still better than the average bulb that comes in most scooters but since the lo beam is only a day running light most of the time reduce this bulb to 20W = 35W savings. 1157 taillight bulb = 21W and here is a typical 1157 LED bulb with current draw: www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1157-led-bulb-dual-intensity-25-led-motorcycle-bulb/170/#/tab/SpecificationsSo how many watts can we save? Replacing the one 1157 bulb with a LED bulb will reduce the watts to less than one watt so lets say 1W = 20W savings then the same for the four other 5W bulbs = 19W more in savings. So let's add this up: lo beam headlight bulb = 35W 1157 tail light bulb = 20W four small 5W bulbs = 19W Total = 74W Now amps = Watts div by volts so 74W div by 12V = 6.17 amps saved. So with full load he has 12.55 Vdc and we know the lighting alone is 151W but we just reduced it by almost half the wattage load with 74W in reduction or a 49% decrease = 13.1 Vdc with lights on. JR

I replaced the lamp on the steering with an led and and led bulb in the low beam projector and the battery is charging a lot better i am at 12.82-12.87vdc and that is the max it will go charging..i will try to replace the brake light with the 1157 tomorrow and will see how it goes..im just wondering why from the factory they put all these bulbs in the setup and the charging system cant keep up..

According to the manual for this scoot the electrical system output is 98watts..the break light is 5w and when you hit the break it goes bright and it burns 21w i believe

According to the manual for this scoot the electrical system output is 98watts..the break light is 5w and when you hit the break it goes bright and it burns 21w i believe 98W and you have 110W in headlight bulbs alone if both are on. Also do remember the little instrument light bulbs, most scooters have 3 of them and a license plate light bulb all at 3 to 5W. They all add up and a LED instrument light bulb will pull only 15ma which is less than 0.25W a very big difference.
So taillight bulb at 5W and lets say another 20W in small bulbs? Replace them all with LED's and watch the scooter go to 13.1 Vdc like I said.

I have replaced all the light bulbs to LED and changed the headlights to 35W H3 bulbs and JR was right! Now i am getting 13.1 - 13.4 tops! THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOU GUYS FOR ALL THE HELP! HAPPY CAMPER HERE! THANKS SCOOTERDOC!

We ought to sticky this or something this would be a big help for others having charging problems. And instead of going to the trouble of upgrading their stator and r/r and doing some rewiring this is an easy fix and gets good results. Alleyoop

How about we move it to Memorable Posts and we'll sticky the transfer post for a while? We can keep it bookmarked for when we need it in the future. I'm not big on threads in the Library although we've done that. What do you think?

And also a good idea Rich,,,this seems to be a reoccurring theme, and it would be nice to just be able to quickly reference it
