don't keep trying to start it like that. it almost sounds like piston- valve contact. in other words- damage. check your timing.

my timing seems to be correct. could it be a problem with the new cylinder head? it came with valves pre-installed. I know it's the top valve that is clicking and it doesn't seem to fit the same as the previous cylinder head that I took off. the cylinder head that I took off does not click. google searching valve clicking isn't much help.

heruk I would take the head back off to make sure that there's still no piston-valve contact. it shoudnt make any noise like that. something isn't right. is the cam chain retainer/tensioner in right? hard to tell in the video. was the head the right one? im not as good with 150's but a wrong height head could cause this I suppose. if only this head does it, then its something wrong with just the head.

Bring it up to top dead center the CAM SPROCKET two little holes even with the head like in this picture. Now take a picture of your FLYWHEEL and timing mark.
If your timing is good leave it like that and get your feeler gauge and adjust both valves to .004 inchs the feeler guage will be marked .004.
Also when you put the CHAIN on the CHAIN should be a little SLACK ON TOP and the bottom tight. Then the TENSIONER goes on and tightens the top part of the chain. Alleyoop
Here is a video on how the tensioner should go on.

Yes I saw that one and its probably your valve adjustment that is hosed, You don't want to fix it that is fine with me. But that motor IF it starts will be dog meat. You do what you want so don't give me your crap, AH I HAVE TO TAKE THIS OFF crap that is the only way to fix it, you messed up and it will not get fixed by itself. Alleyoop

I set my valves to .005 intake and .008 exhaust. I'll set them both to .004

Yea the .008 is for cars not scoots, that is why it is snapping it is WAY to loose.
Set them both to .004 inchs, and yes your timing looks pretty good.
Sorry I thought you were being a smart as with the GIMME A FEW(meaning give me some credit) HAHA sorry bro I took it the wrong way no offense just that some folks just don't believe you when you tell them something is got to be re-done.
Then Check your chain and tensioner, like in the video I put up, and check that the chain on top has the slack because that is what the tensioner is going to adjust. You retrack the tensioner like in the video and then release it slow and done. Alleyoop

Also make sure you have a GROUND WIRE from the motor to the FRAME otherwise the plug will not fire while in the motor.
