this forum is so much better than scooter-forums.com. this site feels more homie and everyone seems like thwey no each other lookin foward to posten threads and given updates on my 2006 50qt-2 2 stroke bad boy....everyone seems to have gy6's what happened to the top end power of the 2 strokes lol.... ;D.....so the big question is should i have invested my money into a 4 stroke instead....

I hate to see the end of the 2 strokes. they had their place. I believe the one place that is the hardest to replace them with the 4 strokes is the outboard motors. we all know how the old 2 strokes last and last. I wonder how they will ever come close to equaling that record with the new outboards. Most of my first ten years of motorcycles were 2 strokes and I loved them, smoke and all. John

Doc. Jr, I have a 150 cc trike(now a yard trike using the trailer hitch to haul a garden trailer for work on the acreage, sadly a failed experiment, but I may have a different aproach in the works) 2 50cc 2T's which I really like, and 2 150cc's. I agree that the 50cc 2T's are on the way out sadly. They have faster pickup than the 4's give less trouble, but will be forced out by the EPA sooner or later. Strange since they use less gas than most vehicles. However, they are best used in town or on country roads with little traffic as they max out around 40 or so.

I used to race motocross on a yz125 and yz250. I loved the torque. It was all or nothin on those bikes. I havent rode a 2T scoot yet but Im sure its fun. Its probably cheaper though to get a 150 4T than to mod your 50cc to try and get the same performance. Theres a few out there that have put a 80cc/90cc/100cc BBK (big bore kit) and are still riding and they are performing close to what the 150 does. It just depends on the kind of riding you plan to do and what you expect out of your scoot. I like to tinker and would love to get a 50cc 2T but I know I need more than what it can do around here or I will end up a road stain. Once I get 10-15 miles away from whre I live it would be a fun ride though. -Zug
