There is one for sale at a local shop. Anyone have experience with these? Good? Bad? High Maintenance?

I rode one and frankly, it rides like a tank. Sluggish in the turns and it almost doesn't want to lean over to cut a corner properly. It drives like a massive Harley cruiser that weighs 1000 pounds. Not to mention the air filter is right where the tires can fling dirt and junk right into it. They have their good points, but I'll let someone else tell you about those.

Darn. They only want $1888 for it, after a trade in and some down payment I can get it for a low monthly. But if it don't ride well, then there's no point.

I got took on mine. They ride like crap for sure, I have a bad back and am the first to notice. No one carries parts, a local shop took 8 days to get me the 2 orings seals for the back brake. Because of the airfilter defect mine had to be bored and fitted with an over sized piston and rings, They had to come from japan and it took over a month.
Those people who ride them on clean perfectly smooth roads swear by them. They have a zillion defects yet have been made the same since way back and EFI since probably 2005. It takes usually about an hour to rip plastic off just to look at the top of the engine! You need mirror extenders unless you like to see your shoulders in the mirrors. Unless you have the same sized hand as a 7 year old you will have trouble to change the 2 head light bulbs. I live on the end of a 2.2 mile dirt road. My malibu I clean the airfilter once a year and drive it ten times as much as the scooter. The majesty has 3 air filters, 2 for the engine one each side and both equal near the size of car filter yet in any where from 500 to 1000 miles I have to clean them. The stealer shop used to charge $92 for the three paper filters and I use green unifoam and a K&N in the car. There is very limited leg room, bad assed hump in between feet, if you are at all tall if you make a sharp left turn in your driveway the parking brake will hit your left knee and it hurts. The crap plastic around the handle bars can be forced up and the bars adjusted some, but will still hit knee on occasion but I put 2" risers on to cure that.
There are scooters out there that are a whole lot better. It has decent power, actually more than you need. Is unstable at highway speeds if there is cross winds. (weighs around 450, 460 and weight is low) bobs around bad in cross winds. Windshield design is poor. Rides much nicer with windshield off..... It has a big storage under seat that I would give up if the corrected some of the other crap. I will never buy another. In fact if I ever see any thing I have to lift or drag my leg over a hump to get on I will lift it a little higher and just buy a motorcycle period. First and foremost a scooter is a step thru design.
Any big scooter that uses the motor as part of the swing arm is not going to ride good, too much un sprung weight. When you hit a bump the front forks work just fine and you barely feel it, when the rear hits I would guess there is at least 250 pounds of motor/wheel/tire that has to start moving up before the shocks can start working! Mine feels like there are no shocks like a harley hard tail. Yet with 2 up they easily bottom out.
