If you use the search box at the upper right of the page it will search that board for key words. So try adjust chain or something like that on the trike board. It is mandatory to have screws left over, they are the ones that came loose from you.

I think extra screws equals operator error,,,please be very careful working on suspension and drive parts,,,you can get hurt or killed or the wife if you start coming up with "extra screws or bolts",while working on the underpinnings of this machine

Bashan, When I use the search on the right side and type in "adjust drive chain" or "tighten chain" I get asked the following in box's. Thread Created By - Post Created By - Post Creation Date - Thread Creation Date. I also tried the search on the left but came up with no answer, that's when I asked. I might not even seen it on here but this is the only site I bookmarked. (I know, hind sight again) cyborg, They were just lil screws, no bolts. I'll be darn if I know what holes I missed putting the fenders back on,, and I looked. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

To see if you need to tighten up the chain and or loosen it some PUSH up on the bottom of the chain in the center between the two sprockets. It should move up 3/4 of an inch or so if it does no need to adjust the chain. Alleyoop I will put up what you need to do to adjust the chain if need be and or align the rear differential if it is not parallel to the front of the scoot. Alleyoop

Afternoon Alleyoop, I have about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of play in the chain and it's hitting the guard. As for the "align the rear differential", will I have to remove the rear fenders to do that??

WOW!! 2-3 inchs of play on the chain yep need to tighten it up: Here is what your rear differnetial probably looks like and what you have to lossen to adjust the chain. To align it get a flat piece and put it against side of the front spocket and it should lay flat on the side on the rear sprocket. Also you can measure each side to a spot on the frame about the middle of it you will find a cross member that is what I use. I find a spot on the axle and measure each side to get it aligned. Take the 4 screws out on top of each fender and the whole rear cover including the center section will come out as one piece .

On the carb adjustment, I get it to where it runs smooth and steady for about 4 minutes, then it speeds up, then slows back down. I am working with the air/fuel mixture like it says here. I have cleaned the air filter like it tells me to on the container. I can't seem to keep it running at a steady speed. Any ideas??

If the Idle bounces up and down it is LEAN you either have an Air Leak someplace or the Fuel Ratio Mixture needs to be turned Counter Clockwise a little more to allow more fuel to be sucked out. When Adjusting the carbs Fuel Ratio screw only turn it 1/4 turns at a time so you don't go to far one way or the other. Alleyoop

Alleyoop, I'll tell ya, I had nightmares thinking about taking off that back fender, but, like you said, just the four screws. That was a piece of cake. And your instructions were great, chain tightened and straight. Thanks,, again. Get the carb figured out and the Wife is ready to roll.

I turned the screw counter clockwise one time and had it running great, but the screw was backed WAY out. I took it for a ride and had to be towed back. The needle and spring fell out as I was going down the road. Luckily they both got hung up on the motor and I found them when I got back. Was a son of a gun to get them out, but I did. The air leak might be the problem, I'll look for one. WD-40 should tell me if and where a leak is. Think I'll take me a 15 minute break first. The fuel ratio screw should not be out more than 3- 3/12 turns out from the closed position, best is anywhere from 2-3 turns out from the closed position. If it is out more than 3 1/2 turns that means something is clogged and not allowing enough fuel to be sucked out. You may need to clean out the carb and it's passages. To test if the right size PILOT jet is in there start it up and let it idle for 5 minutes then start to turn the fuel ratio screw clockwise 1/4 at a time it should kill the motor when there is about 1 full turn left before the closed position. Alleyoop Here is how to check and or verify good fuel delivery: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/7723/check-fuel-delivery

Turned the screw out 3 turns and it starts right up but still idles fast, then slow, but it keeps running. I have a bowl vent line that goes nowhere, is that ok? If I put my finger over it the motor dies. I can't do pictures anymore. I had my $300 camera on the fender when I started the trike up and the camera hit the ground. It don't work no more,, bummer!

For me to get to the carb better I'll have to take the left fenders off. But on the bright side,, I should end up with more extra screws.
