This is your Viking Rear Axle shot and it is very similiar to my trikes axle. I see 4 brackets holding the axle like on mine. I do not see the adjusters at the bottom tough yours may not have those. But the whole idea is to ROTATE and MOVE the whole axle in or out to loosen or tighten the Chain. If you notice the Brackets are slotted so make sure you align the WHOLE axle with the front, otherwise the chain will not be aligned on the sprockets and it will pull to one side or the other. I measure from a spot on each side of the axle near the hubs and measure to where the bottom cross member is under the frame usually where the CENTER STAND used to mount on the two wheel version of the scooter the trike was converted from. Being 1/8 off is fine anythin 1/4 or or greater you will notice pulling left or right. Alleyoop THIS IS YOURS:  THIS IS MINE:  |

As a side note there are very inexpensive magnetic laser chain alignment tools out there now,,,get the chain to the correct tension,,put the laser on the side of the chain,,,,BAM!!!!! you know when it's dead on

Alley, I remember making a similar alignment tool back in the '70s when I worked on racing bikes. They are real handy to have. I sold it and the carb tools when I bought my first shafted Gold Wing.

I just used to use a string wrap it around a tooth on the front sprocket and bring it back to the rear sprocket there are several easy ways to align them.

Unlike conventional chain lube that "flys" off the chain and can be messy, this stuff drys to a wax like film and does not attract dust. It displaces water which prevents rust and corrosion, It can be used for all kinds of metal squeaks and squawks. I use it and it works great.

I used Chain Wax that sprays on wet and after a few minutes dries and leaves behind a wax/oil coating and has less " fling",,, but I'll give the amsoil product a try,,, I am gettin low ,,, thanks for the tip Jim
