60% of cagers are blind. 35% are busy texting. The other 5% are bikers with their bikes in the shop.

As an experienced rider, the most important thing I learned - trees don't move. What? I don't think so. I've seen trees jump right in front of people. Big ones too.

Two people I knew died in two separate accidents in intersections this week. You can't drive through intersections like your driving a Mack Truck. I'm always looking for the exit.

I been preaching "RIDE LIKE YOU ARE INVISIBLE" for as long as I can remember. Been riding since 1958 and intersections have to be the most dangerous. As said above driving like you are in a mack truck might make you right...dead right.

You ARE invisible and they ARE out to get you. If you think I'm kidding, just try riding here in Hawaii. We have people from everywhere in the world driving on our roads. It's ALWAYS tourist season here and a tourist has one hand on the map, the other is holding a sandwich or a drink, steering with a knee, or better yet, having the passenger drive from the wrong seat.
I've seen things that if I had a lick of sense would make me quit riding forever.

I haven't even ridden yet (well, just a little) but my biggest concerns are ....cars coming up from behind me and hitting me while I am stopped (had this happen when I drove my truck), second is probably cars turning in front of (because that is what seems to be the majority of accidents on youtube), finally, I am concerned about gravel and debris when taking a corner.

experience is every thing. As far as gravel....travel in the road where the tire tracks from cars are. I prefer the right side one as a car going over the center line will hit you at least twice the speed you are going at. If you go in the center between the most traveled part in your lane you ride on the oil drips from the junks. Also riding where the car tires go is the cleanest with least nails etc. RIDE AS YOU WERE INVISIBLE.
