there hasn't been one time that I've gone for a ride, around town or cross country, I haven't used something I learned from taking the course.

The great thing about the MSF course is that it's been created by and taught by motorcycle riders. It's not some professor spouting off about theory, it's experience being handed down! You will not regret the time or money spent on the MSF course!

Day 1....did ok until shifting from 1st to 2nd...i had a hard time coordinating everything but I especially had a hard time moving my foot from over to under and vice versa. These are small bikes and I am long legged. I just struggled with it.

If you don't get something good from it then you're asleep or dead.

So I completed the course....I was wondering.....how would a scooter do on some of the you turn skill can they even do it without the clutch and friction zone? I guess I am going to try it when I get my bike running.

A scooter can do it more easily than most manual shift bikes. I did the course on both my scoot and then my Nighthawk. The scoot was far easier.

In Pennsylvania it's still free to take. I rode back in the 70's, and when kids came along, the motorcycle went away. 30 years later, I get the bug for a scooter, and drove around for a few years on permits. Once I decided I wanted to do some touring, I thought it was time to knowledge up. Everything about the course was fun, it was a challenge, and I learned how to stay alive and upright in many different ways. A month after going through it, I went on a 1400 mile ride for 5 days, and it was just a great thrill for me. I beg everyone I know to go take the course, from riders that just go get groceries to everyday it's my only ride folks.

The state police sponsor the course here and you use your own ride. Cost $25.
