Hey guys, I'm having just the hardest time finding the engine number on my soon to be wife's scooter! She bought a 2009 Sunny LB150T Pink (of course) Only had 400 miles on it for like $800. Not a bad deal ran great drove great just had to tighten a couple bolts near the muffler. Still runs and drives great get about 90+ MPG. BUT I Cannot find the engine number!!! Can anyone help me? The only number stamped on the motor that I can see is the VIN number? ? I'm so confused by this chinese scooter stuff lol I'll stick with my 86 Honda Magna! But anyways any help would be appreciated! THANKS!

Look on the motor case by the sidestand: The motor type should be itched into the case. Alleyoop

What, Take a picture of the stamp on it, the DMV, what are they looking at that makes them say it does not match? Most DMVs do not know much about scoots. Alleyoop

Well the motor type well be stamped on the case and the scoot is a Suuny MC Roketa scoot very common nothing special maybe for the PINK color. The motor is most likely a 157QMJ which is also very common to the 150s chinese scoots.
BUT PICTURES PLEASE otherwise we cannot not help much, just guessing, so help us help you by providing some pictures of the scoot to ID it and the side of the CVT where the motor is stamped. Alleyoop

The stamp on side has a little plate in front of it the top line is LB1P57QMJ *90001921*

There you go its a 1P57QMJ, the LB is the brand name LONGBO. The engine MAY have a 72mm tall head while the regular 157qmj's head are 60mm tall. If it has the taller head it would have about 9.? Hp, the regualar 157QMJ have 8.? hp. But many 1P157 motors do not have the taller heads so that is just questionable about the HP unless you get at the motor and measure it.
So now that we know what motor it has WHAT are the DMB looking at that they say does not match? Alleyoop

The serial number I guess would be the proper term. If the serials dont match during title transfer then they know you changed the motor and need to somehow get a new title and or it could be stolen etc.
Like my motorcycle number is like RC32xxxxx-xxxx So every bike has a frame number and engine number to be able to tell if anything on it has been changed and if it has it must be documented

AH yes, if the serial numbers do not jive then YES they will question it. Can you get a hold of the people you bought it from and ask them what is going on. Alleyoop

The engine serial number wouldn't be stamped on the frame
