When I meditate on what kind of person it takes to sacrifice like that, and the dangers and risks involved, it humbles me. "There is no greater love than that of giving one's life for another". Thank you all so much !

Thank you to those that have, do, and will risk it all and sacrifice themselvea, to honor and uphold the American freedom that we all love.
My Grandfather was in WW1 and lost his left arm, twice. The first time he was shot, it was right above his wrist, they amputated what was left of his hand. 3 days later he was fighting again. A couple weeks after that he was shot again, in the left arm at his elbow. This time the took his arm from the elbow down, and sent home home with honors.
My Father, God rest his soul, fought in Korea. He said that he was part of stuff that he would never forget, and saw things that stayed with him till he died in '01. My father servednhis time in Korea, and the did another tour, but was stationed in Georgia. He later retired with Full Honors. Dad wasbso against the Army beforebhe passed, that he refused to go to the VA, and just went to normal hospitals. He wouldn't talk about his time in Korea. He made me promise, the day I turned sixteen that I would NOT enroll in the services. I made the promise, but it was a moot point, when I was seventeen, I was in a wreck that F-ed me up too bed to be allowed to serve my country.
I wanted to be in the National Guards, because Dad talked highly of them, But I am seriously busted up. Was told I would be in a wheel chair before thirty. Showed them!!!
