Cool. $6 is a drop in the bucket to take a chance on. A relay is a relay, as long as its rated for it and can be installed. I would think it will. True dat coil. If it turns over once the relays in, run it on its center stand until it dies then check for a strong blue spark. Did you happen to bridge the relay at any point to see if it will spin the starer? It could have its internal contacts rusted frozen. Haha, TRUE DAT TOO, cyborg!

By the way, how are those tires cloudsifter ? I hope you'll inspect them closely for dry rot, having been on what appears to be the hot Texas soil for some time. Tires have surprised me , withstanding it before but, ya gotsta be safe out there.

I have thought about bridging the relay. Hadn't don't it yet.
As for the tires - I can't remember what I upgraded to a couple of years ago. When I look maybe I'll edit this post.
Actually in Texas up until March this year when I moved to Albuquerque - bike sat on concrete driveway, or concrete garage floor.
It sat on concrete pad here in Albuquerque in the backyard until a couple weeks ago when I moved it onto the dirt/sand so I could have shade to work on it part of the day.
I will make sure tires are not dry rotted before I ride. They are upgrades as recommended in the old Scootdawg forum that I put on myself along with the kurvygirl valve stems that bolt in. Much better than the OEM rubber ones.

Thanks for the confirmation @jr . That is the one I purchased earlier yesterday. You don't have to do research for me on the coil, I have looked around several places and have a few options, but, if you have a source that you know would work...I'm happy to take a look at it for the coil as well. Right now, the ones I've bookmarked are... That same seller has a coil for $10 www.ebay.com/itm/Ignition-Coil-Kawasaki-ATV-BAYOU-220-KLF220-1988-2002-/280649392170?hash=item415801e02a:g:g6sAAOSwcF9UXVmI&vxp=mtrOther sellers $17.95 www.ebay.com/itm/Ignition-Coil-For-GY6-XV250-Baja-Linhai-260cc-300cc-ATV-Quad-Moped-Scooter-/321933151137?hash=item4af4b60ba1:g:h5gAAOSwf-VWWT4c&vxp=mtr$18.00 www.ebay.com/itm/Ignition-Coil-for-Yamaha-Linhai-250cc-300cc-Motor-ATV-Moped-Scooters-/301405078585?hash=item462d248439:g:IwoAAOSw0vBUb6agLots of other simliar available. Since some give the measurements of the lenth of the wires... I'm guessing it would be good to measure mine and also the dimensions of the coil and the way it mounts to try and get an exact fit? I appreciate all of the responsiveness here in the forum. I know some were members of the Scootdawg, It's the ride, and now this forum... and I've been going thru them and making myself a bookmark file of parts and how to's and sources of info and parts... maybe if it's possible to export just that portion of my bookmark file sometime and post it, I will. Found the tire upgrades I spoke of up above- on my amazon past orders. At this time the Shinko Rear tire is $39.42 (was about $33.xx [Shinko SR007 Series Tire - Front/Rear - 130/70-12 , Position: Front/Rear, Tire Size: 130/70-12, Rim Size: 12, Speed Rating: P, Tire Ply: 4, Tire Type: Scooter/Moped XF87-4211] before tax and I have Prime... so shipping was nothing. To find that same tire in Amazon search just put in B001CD8PTW Front (can be front or rear) is $58.88 [Michelin City Grip Premium Scooter Tire Front 110/90-12] and you can find it using B005J88KXM in the search.

Good going! I have a folder like that. Since your scoot is a little on the rarer side, that list may be quite useful to the next guy that comes along with one. With the weather you're probably having, I'd put a tarp on the floor and bring that scoot inside, if you have the option to. I had mine in my empty dining area for quite some time. Freaked my cat out

Ordered this coil on ebay on 7/25 Sunday..There were slightly cheaper ones, but would possibly have shipped from China. I wish on ebay when you filter for "US Only" that the china ones didn't still show up. I have heard that sometimes ordering from a china ebay seller can result in them getting to you within a couple of days just like a US seller... but the gamble is at the time you order, they don't have any pre staged in the US, so I went ahead and ordered with a US seller that has alot of sales showing for the item. www.ebay.com/itm/301405078585?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Good, it will be great to know another scoot made it back to the streets I've ordered from that seller before (I'm in SoCal myself)and I think I remember them to have been expedient and legit. And yes, I am very frustrated by the sneakiness of the china sellers, quite often. It took a while for me to realize that they have New Jersey, Brooklyn NY , Ontario Ca, etc; addresses that they use yet still ship the item from China, taking weeks to arrive. I now go by the estimated ship dates first, then price, for the same item. It would be helpful for Ebay to allow a search to be sorted by shipping times. I've noticed China starting to use this tactic on Amazon too, lately .

Relay arrived today. Ordered on Jul 22nd, it shipped out 23rd, and arrived today 25th. So that supports your good impression of them. olivertwisted I ordered the coil sunday... so expecting that maybe by this coming Saturday... May or may not get to the coil on Tuesday, as need to take family friend to a doc. appt. But hopefully not too much other than the coil and relay to get the engine started, and change the throttle cables (pulled out, new ones not physically ran yet) and then I'd like to be able to start the engine.. that will be a boost to motivation! When that happens, if it runs then I'll run it on the center stand for awhile and work on things like flushing the coolant, considering changing the coolant hoses... they didn't leak in the two years since it has run, they are OEM ad it would take some figuring out what sizes the hoses are... also not a 'have to' but would like to slide the tank or lower it so that I can adjust the play in the fuel level sensor.... those things and I think I can start putting plastics bank on.. see what fasteners I need to aquire vs what I have on hand.... But nice to see if it starts.. then the rest should be easy... cloudsifter

Nice! Hey, I didn't go back And read what you said about the sensor (Am about to hop into the bath) but have you tried just putting a coat hangar or something down in the tank to free up the float lever? They get hung up. Mine does, then frees up when it wants to. Alleyoop had a post about it.

Well, mine I wouldn't say was "hung up"... per say.... Since I got the scooter... It just doesn't immediately respond to say, a fill-up. But, as soon as I start it up and go down the road... the gauge would settle into the right level....from the vibration of just the engine running and driving. I lucked out... I didn't have a sensor that was hard stuck...and as the fuel level goes down... the sensor keeps up with the level....

cloudsifter Yup! That is the same thing that mine does . I loosed it a first time, it was fine for a while, now it goes in and out of operation. I figured it gets hung up as vibration seems to jog mine loose, too. After all that I'd been through to get it on the road, I coudn't bring myself to worry too much about it until I got to ride and enjoy it a while. Oh yeah, AND heal my back from what my MRI revealed as 5 bulging discs from pushing myself too hard on it . It annoys me but, I'll wait on it
