Ok boys, I don't know where to start. I was on my way into the big city today and I didn't make it. As we were going along the trike motor fell flat on top end. I still had low end power and we got it home. I went looking for air leaks. I put water on the intake manifold and it would stall. I did that 3 times, then it would not start again. I have gas going to the new carb and I have spark to the plug. I think I fixed the intake leak but can't know for sure till I get it running.
Where do I start looking for the problem??
It's a GY6 150cc on a 2009 ice bear cruiser.
************UPDATE************ It started running and ran for about 15 seconds then quit again. But it did start. Kinda sounds like it's running out of gas, KINDA. I tried to give it throttle but it dies. Now it won't start again. I already called it a BUNCH of names, what's next??

I can get it running now and again but can't give it any throttle with out it dying. Now it's hot from running for about 5 minuets and won't start. But I did get the manifold leak fixed.

Go back to what you did last. Symptoms seem similar to original problem. Patching manifold usually not good. Having it off can disturb the gasket. Also carb float. One other thing that allows engine to run but no high speed is the diaphragm on top of carb.

Question,, I went out this morning and it started right up but if I give it throttle, it dies like this. ClickyAfter it ran for 5 minuets at idle, it died and it won't start again. Does that sound like I need a valve adjustment??

Yup, with the extra air it went lean and got hot. Set the valves

Afternoon Boys, I still have a problem with it running. I set the valves, got a new carb, new manifold gaskets and adjusted the carb. But if I give it any throttle it dies as you can see. What am I missing? Click HERE to watch.

As I said at the other place, disassemble and check right grip....throttle cable mechanism.....kill switch wires, for interference.

Copied from the other place...
"Afternoon rks.
It would be nice if it was that simple. I can give it throttle slowly and it won't die. It's only when I do it fast. I can ride it down the road ok, I just can't rev it up or take off fast. I used a water hose and checked for air leaks, I flooded it! It only stops when the water hits the spark plug. No vac leaks,,,, that I found. "

Don't use a hose with water. Use a mister or even a windex spray. I usually use ether. All you are looking for is a change in rpm,....up or down the finer the mist the better it works.

Carb has a problem,,, starving for fuel ,, take off the carb top to see if the diaphragm is ok

Sorry, I'm not going to be any help, cause I'm newbie who is still figuring things out, BUT... I watched your video and listened to the engine and loved that deep rumbling sound. It sounds much bigger than a GY6 150cc (that's what I have in mine), but that could have just been the recording or acoustics.
Hope you get 'er figured out.

Ice Bear uses rubber intakes I would pull carburetor then the intake look at it really good they are noted to crack at lot causing a good vacuum leak

Morning Boys, jct842, I used a spray bottle and didn't find any change. I really thought it was/is a vac leak so I went with the hose and flooded it. Still no change. cyborg, I checked the diaphragm of the old new carb and didn't find anything wrong with it. Then I changed the diaphragm out with another one I have, same thing. Then I bought a another new carb, replaced the manifold gaskets and ran a lot of water over the carb looking for air leaks, none. Adjusted the carb about 8 times trying different settings, I am back with the setting I ended up the first time I adjusted it, 2 and 1/8 turns out. New fuel filter and it's pumping good fuel to the carb. sillylittleboy, A while back I bought a new carb and noticed a different's in the sound and how it ran with the new carb compared with the stock one that came with it. New carb and switching to the middle gas made a big diff for the trike. www.ebay.com/itm/351696298763?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITcrwford, My new manifold will be delivered today but I really don't need it. After I replaced the 2 gaskets I have no leaks anywhere near the carb. That I'm sure of. When I flood the motor with water, it only changes idle and stops when the water hits the spark plug. I have also sprayed/flooded under all the side panels looking for vac leaks. I know this problem is something simple that I am over looking.

Sure seems like the mains. Idle circuit sounds great, does what I would expect.
It has some thing to do with fuel flow, the diaphragm on top with its needle, the slide, possibly the float level is way low. For a second carb to do this is puzzling.
Putting cold water on the spark plug is a good way to crack the porcelain/ceramic or what ever they use for insulators.
