Went to a friends house and after seeing what he had rotting in the back yard I had no choice but to rescue it. Imagine my surprise when I pulled back the tarp to reveal a complete 1985 Suzuki gv700 Madura. I had never heard of one of these before and for a good reason. The gv700 was only made for one year. Apparently Suzuki grew a wild hair and decided to give the Honda Magna a run for its money. So here we have a 700cc liquid cooled, shaft drive V4 bike that's been reported to be a 13 second bike out of the box. Got it home and gave it a good once over, changed the plugs, the oils, flushed the coolant and the fuel, installed a new battery, some fresh fuel and man I love that sound.

Very nice. That bike was so under rated. You will have it a good, long time. It came from a time when the Japanese were totally concerned with long term reliability and less with how to cut costs. A lot of steel on those bikes.

I'll bet a good chunk of dough that once you get it sorted out it'll clip a 12 second quarter,,, being a long time motorcyclist I had a real hard time justifying scooters,, hey they're fun and all and if I wanna do a quick blast to the store the Stella is a serous pack mule,,,but if there's any serious work to be done I go with either of my full sized bikes,,, I know I know I'm a heretic being on a scooter board and saying it but I much prefer the power and superior suspension ( travel being the big point here,,, and brakes ( although the Stella does run brembos and gerling shocks front and back,, ) but for me there's nothing like pulling the trigger on a full size bike with a gearbox,,,,,6 speeds are where it's at,,,I could go on for an hour or more about the bike you got,,, a real nice one!!! And you couldn't complain about the price that's for sure

this is gonna be fun. i can't wait to get it out on the 4 lane to see what it does. it's got a serious power band above 5k and seems to be all top end. it's got all the power and half the weight of the goldwing.

Most fun I ever had on a bike was the 7 years I rode a suz 1200cc bandit. Out side of regular oil changes the only other costs were chains tires and sprockets. There I spent more than it cost buying the year old bike.

True hyperspace acceleration anything after 40-45 mph,,fan the clutch at 7-8000 and tell me about it,,,scare the sh1t out of you if you're not ready,,probably lay rubber in 4th at freeway speeds,,,,and that's stock ,,,the possibilities are broad and far,,,,a little cleanup of the intakes with free flow air filter,,exhaust work,, throw in a little nitros ,,,YEEHAW!!!!,,,,, you got yerself a giant killer,,,and for like no money

It's all day cruising at a fast pace on that thing,,,,it's gonna be the fast sweeper curve KING!!!!!,,, think mini vmax with a decent suspension,,,a change in fork oil to belray 20,, set the preload to 3/4 and it'll RIP!!!!!!,,, easy 120 hp at the wheel with a 4 into 1 collector exhaust and probably lose 25 pounds doing it,,,niceness,,,You my man may have bumped into the perfect platform for a very serious hotrod,,,

Be careful, with that much get up and go easy to ride over your head. Been riding since 1958 and that thing scared me a few times.
I wore the left side wall of the new front avon off in around 2000 miles, right side was almost new. With all the tight curves around here and no shoulders you find your self going a whole lot faster on a left curve. I was younger then, just a little over 60! All growed up now at 74 and am going a lot slower.

Shoehorning what is basically a car engine into a motorcycle with a decent chassis and good brakes brings out the brass balls in just about anybody ,,, lol,,, glad you lived to tell the tail
