2010 chongquing 49cc. When I fill my tank it will over flow out the filler neck after sitting for a few minutes. Does the gas expand? I can figure it out

Probably some sort of air bubble, any way don't fill it so full. There is a metal restriction in the neck, filling it above that will get gas into the carbon polution filter or what ever they call it and cause other problems.

Yes gas will expand. cold in the ground, warmer in the tank.
Also its possible engine heat may contribute to this effect.

I thought expansion as well. when its really low on gas and you fill it. you can hear bubbles but idk. I guess the simple answer is not to fill it up as much.
