Had another issue with my Chinese Scooter. Ran great for 30 miles. Came home and shut off. Tried 15 minutes later and it would not start. I said screw it for a day.
Today I checked my valves and made sure both were set at .004 inch. My spark plug is set at .025. I had some trouble and did get it going today. My question now is when I go to start I have to give just a tad of fuel then let go turn the key and bingo runs. I have my idle set to on stand the back wheel is just wanting to turn but on one of Allys post he said just enough to get the rear wheel slightly moving. I have my air mixture set at about 1 1/2 turns. Why do i have to give it that tad of fuel when starting?

Counter-clockwise to richen - clockwise to lean (most GY6's factory setting is 2 1/2 to 3 turns out). Turn screw until it stops (don't tighten) and then start from there!

Might be good to go next size bigger for the pilot jet. Got to remember the maker/importer had to pass pollution so they keep every thing lean lean lean.

all what they said, but the tire should not be trying to turn, that is going to glaze the pads making them slippery and you will get a very jerky start as they try to grab from a stop but can't really until enough rpms make them grab. while on the center stand idling, you should be able to freely turn the wheel by hand in either direction. i like mine to idle low enough to be just over stalling out yet running very steady.
the best way is to start at the 2 1/2 turns out with the mixture, then use the set screw for the throttle/butterfly valve to lower it.
