Looking for tires for my Helix clone. I put on a Kenda on the rear about 3000 miles ago, and I'm getting down there, maybe 500 miles to go, or so. After riding Harleys, 3500 miles on a tire is stupid, but these little tires do a lot of work. I like the Kenda, it wasn't real sticky so I guess it lasted longer than a sticky tire would. Which brings me to my question, are Pirelli real sticky? I think they are, but I've never bought them. Bridgestone is another option, but they are more money and I don't think they are real sticky, though I've never bought one of those either. I want as many miles as I can get, I only ride in the rain when I'm caught, and I'm usually only a few miles from home, so I'm not worried about the sticky. What say you? What tire is going to give me most miles?

It's kinda strange how people's experiences differ.
I bought a Kenda a number of years ago.....and swear I wouldn't run another one if they were free. Michelin, or Pirelli are the companies that get my business now. The tires below were put on the same scoot, both were in the drive position, both had balance beads installed.
Here are the numbers ....Kenda K413, 120/70-12, $32.99, Installed at 3011.6, Replaced at 5340.4, total miles 2328.8, cost per mile $0.014 ...Michelin CG, 120/70-12, $50.88, Installed at 5340.4, Replaced at 10380.5, total miles 5040.1, cost per mile $0.010
You tell me which one gives you more bang for your buck.

I ordered a Kenda K764 yesterday, probably get it on within a month, I still some some tread. This should do better than the K329 I have now, but it did cost another $15, so it will probably all come out in the wash.

I put Shinko tires on my Helix clone and they are wearing like tires at twice the price. Bridgestone and the other high price brands were no better for me.

I put that K764 on and just forgot about it, I figured I'd get at least what I got out of the K320. Just glanced at it the other day, and I thought ? I've got 1600 miles on this tire, and I have to start planning on getting another one. This thing didn't last at all. I think I'll try a Shinko next.
