I tried this thread back in August of last year, but got 0 response, so I thought I'd try again! I have an 11 pole stator with the customary Black/Red and Blue/White connections; and the other wires are green, white, ONE YELLOW, and pink (4-wire connector). I intended to go to a 6-pin R/R, but my question is; what's the best way to tie in the single yellow from the stator to the THREE yellows on the R/R (or am I missing something)? The Green, White and Red wires on the new R/R replace the same color wires from the original R/R, right? The only other option is if the Pink and White wires from the stator are the same as the two yellows on a "normal" 11-pole stator, is that possible (I know how much the chinese enjoy swapping colors on us decadent Americans)?

I found your earlier thread and looked at the photos. It appears that the yel, wht, and pnk are indeed the same as 3 yellows. Hook them up yel to yel , yel to wht, yel to pnk. One yel never goes to 3 yel. I don't know why your changing the rr, but the stator and the rr have to have matching styles .

When you say styles are you referring to like how a stator can be 3 phase etc? Or just pertaining like the connectors? I'm working on some electrical issues myself. Just last night I was able to get a spark but no fire. What type of rectifier eoikd I look for with a 11 coil 3 phase stator? Thanks

Yes, the style would be single or 3 phase; halfwave or fullwave. The connectors would be what ever the mfg wants to use. You identified yours as 3 phase. While it is theoretically possible to have a 3 phase/halfwave design, it would be somewhat silly. Chances are pretty good that the 3 phase would be fullwave. You have to look at your existing RR too see how many wires and where they go.

Hi, you may need to get a 7-pin rectifier-regulator. The r-r had to match the startups you have. If your stator is 11-pole (3 yellow and one green coming off it), you likely need the 7-pun r-r: three yellow coming into the r-r groom the stator; 4 (green, white, black, and red) coming out of the r-r to per the starter, choke, and headlights. I tried this thread back in August of last year, but got 0 response, so I thought I'd try again! jomama, am I understanding that you sourced an 11 pole 6 wire stator? I'm not finding any on any site, seems my only option is a 5 wire 11 pole stator. TIA for any info you can give me.

"snaker" was absolutely correct . . . the different colored wires ARE the same as three yellows!! FYI, I upgraded from a single-phase to three-phase stator and had to change R/R's. Everything works GREAT now!
