I have a used gy6 150 cc eagle and it will not idle. I can ride at 60mph with no problem. I've adjusted the idle screw but it will only idle with the idle screw all the way in. Now that I have the idle screw all the way and the scooter at an idle, it will rev really high and then purr, rev reallly high and then purr. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you're trying to get across; not your fault , this is a tough medium to express yourself and scooter symptoms are hard to descibe. A normal idle is when your bike is on the center stand the rear wheel isn't moving or barely moving. If you have to have the screw all the way in to idle, you may need to adjust the cable. The throttle cable runs through a brass colored bracket. There's a bolt on each side of the bracket, you can loosen them with probably a 12mm wrench and move the cable in or out as necessary to get a rough set on the idle and then use the idle screw. If your RPM's are going up and down it's probably a vacuum leak and you need to check all of your vac lines and intake manifold. Rich

I notice theres a thin crack in the intake manifold and all the other rubber lines seem to be okay. Would that really make that much of a differnce?

okay, I got the scooter to idle. I guess the last person who tried to fix the rpm's going up and down tightened the air/fuel mixture screw on the carb ALL THE WAY IN. So, I adjusted that and it idles with no problem. I do still notice theres a lose in power. Can anyone tell me if that hose above is suppose to be disconnected or not?

I could be wrong but judging by the size it looks like part of the EGR system. Is it connected to a valve on or near the valve cover?

It is laying right underneath the valve cover but I cant see and spots where it would have fell off of. All the connections on the valve cover are acounted for. If I put my thumb on the end of the hose while the scooter is running it shuts off.

I'm thinking it should be hooked up to air cleaner housing.

Yes, if at Idle the rpms are jumping up and down it is always the case it is running really Lean at Idle. As for the mystery hose where is it connected to, on the other end(the Header Pipe)? If it is then there is probably a connection on the air box that it should plug into. Alleyoop

It's the fresh air inlet for the PAIR system, it's not supposed to be hooked up to anything. It draws fresh air into a weird pollution system that attaches to that squirrel pipe on the front of your valve cover. Don't worry about it, it's supposed to be open. I don't know why they just let it hang down like that. Mine drove me nuts trying to figure out where it fell off of until I finally realized it hooks to nothing! Rich

also these scooters have been know to have cracks in the intake and other vacuum leaks. to find them you take a can of carb cleaner while engine is idling and spray all around the hoses and intake manifld. do not spay into air intake though. If the idle speed goes up or down you have an air leak. all of the hoses should have been replaced when doing a PDI. If you are not sure that has been done it will not hurt to do it. In the tech section there are posts for doing a PDI. john.
