ccprof, Sorry to hear you went down, but thank god you were not seriously hurt(MAYBE JUST YOUR PRIDE). But scoots can be fixed but body parts may or may not be fixable. Maybe you ought to start thinking about a Trike, that would not have happened if you were on a Trike. Hope your injuries heal good and fast so you can get back on the rode again. Alleyoop

Thanks Al. A trike would be nice but if I bought one, I wouldn't have to worry about healing - Dr. Mom would kill me.

Update - went out a little bit ago and got the hardbags realigned. Got the sprung plastic put back in place. Now I have to sand the scratches and try to match paint.

Wow CC, took the old tumble hu! It does happen quickly, as a blink of an eye. I'm glad someone came to your rescue cause many people would have ignored the situation and kept on going. Anyway, I'm glad you are OK. Little scrapes and bruses but it takes a long time to heal as we get older. I'm sure you are finding that out. Take a pic of the muffler shield. I have a shield in the garage for a 250-b. Will be glad to send it to you.

Scooterran - thanks for the offer. I don't think it would fit. This one (like everything else on this thing) is a little different. I'm not wprried about it at this point.

I can see you taking the picture!
Right next to the.....er....uh........character mark! Yeah, that's what they call 'em! I got more than a few of them myself. Some on my bikes, some on me. How's the hinge? Better I hope, I know things are stiff enough without those kinds of things happening. Glad you're OK Larry. Rich

Thanks Rich. That's not really me. That's an image of a poltergeist. I'm going to try and sell it on E-bay. I guess I'm somewhat better but the ribs still hurt like He!! when I do just about anything. I thought about (for 10 seconds) riding to class today and decided to give it a couple more days to heal up.

Update - I'm feeling much better although the ribs are still kind of sore. I can do most things and it doesn't hurt to sneeze/yawn/laugh. I took some time yesterday and worked most of the scratches out and got a base coat of paint on. It's darker but so was the original under coat and I need to find something a little lighter for a final coat. The factory paint looks like it has just a touch of purple so I know that I'll never quite match it. Repairing the pin stripes is going to be a b!tch.
Rain is forecast for the next few days so I won't be riding.

CC, I've not been around much and just got back. Sorry to hear about your bad luck (damn oil spots) but equally GLAD to it wasn't to bad. I'm sure you'll have that Xpeed looking just fine in no time. Going to replace the helmet? Take it easy as even little falls can be a big pain. Best wishes!

Hey M/C, glad you're back. I'm getting there. Helmet - I checked it out, doesn't look like major damage, just scratches, so I'm not replacing now. Maybe for Christmas? I sure don't need anymore fishing gear which is what the kids always buy me.

Professor, You said in your OP that there were scratches to the back and face shied of your helmet. Don't take the risk of unseen damage. Not with something as important as yer noggin! Good people and friends are hard to come by and we are still a small (but growing) family here. We want to keep you around for some time, as in MANY more years to come. Get the kids to send you a gift certificate to a local shop where you can find one that fits right. As for me being back, thanks. Not only am I back but I'm no longer blind. Can see all the pix and even youtube vids being posted. Even the cr@p our buddy JR likes to torture us with! ;D Heal quick, M/C

Well, the ribs are better and after 3 days of cold rain, the weather finally broke. I went out for a short ride to the store. It was awfully windy but sure felt good to be back on 2 wheels.
M/C - we have a couple helmets here.

CC Sorry to hear about your spill. Finding out you will be 62 next month had me thinking some. I'll be 62 this month. I hope the fun of riding our scooters isn't coming to an end.

CC Sorry to hear about your spill. Finding out you will be 62 next month had me thinking some. I'll be 62 this month. I hope the fun of riding our scooters isn't coming to an end. I'll be 68 this month. I started with scoots 3 years ago as a natural transition (for me) from heavier motorcycles. Scoots really do put the fun in riding. Got my first motorcycle over 40 years ago and, in retrospect, I wish it was a scoot. When 2 wheels becomes too much for me to handle I can always go to a trike. Still riding in the open air and you don't have to worry about spills.

Speed - I think it's still fun and intend to keep riding as long as I can. There's a gut in a small town near here that's 83 and still riding his scoot.
Cruiser - well we started riding with training wheels didn't we? I guess we can fiannly finish that way. I got my first scoot 3 years ago.
