scooterran, I hate to be the one to tell you, but there is no way in hell you can change your headlights or blinkers without removing the windshield and the front plastic. Changing the rear lights is a piece of cake as you only have to remove two nuts and pull the panel out. There seems like there is about 20 screws and 4 nuts you have to remove to get the front cover off.

A guy with wonderful information. You've got to be kidding me. Oh! Oh! wait a minute. That's right , I have a Chinker toy. No way they could have an easy way to remove the light cover and twist out the old bulb, put in the new one and the re-install the cover. Nah! too easy. Did you get the halogen lights and if so where did you get them?

Yes, I received the halogen lights but they were dirty and I didn't want to install them and put everything together and have them blow out a few days later. So I went out and purchased two 35w 35w bulbs since the OEM's were only 25 W not 35 as stated. Brighter but not bright enough. So once again I ordered 2 45w45w bulbs from Bulb Town. Not at all looking forward to taking the front end off again. Who ever designed this scooter was a moron. You can do anything on it without stripping it all down. Most of the members here are handy, but if you are not handy you are out of luck.

Any reason you didn't just order the halogens I posted from the reputable scooter site? 45w is getting into some decent power consumption and higher heat; still an incandescent bulb.

I ordered them from the first site you had listed. There were in the USA and I wanted them faster then from coming from China.

I need as bright as light as a bulb can give me cause I see a lot of deer between my home and work, mornings and evenings. Good thing I didn't ride the other morning, there was a Road Kill laying right dab in the middle or the right lane. It would have been bad and probably would have caused a lot of road rash. It's that time of year that the big buck are chaseing the does and they will run anywhere. Be carefull out there they'll run into ya! Would a regular M/C shop have halogen light bulbs or mabe a Nappa, Autozone ?

Most cycle shops don't carry 35w halogens nor do the auto supply stores. If you have a 54 A or 54B the bulb base is a BA20 D. I've ordered 45w headlights.

Went to a couple of car parts stores today and nobody seems to carry this bulb . A guy at the last store told me that there was a new scooter store south of Terre Haute at a strip mall that might have the bulb. So it looks like a trip in the morning. As I took out the headlight cover and looked into it, I noticed that there were adjustment screws for the light beam similar to a car. So I figure that with regular 35w bulbs with a little light beam adjustment, I might get by. But I'm going to see if they have the halogens. That will be my 1st choice.

Well, here goes. I went to 4 places this morning to find a headlight for my MC-54-250-B. The last place that I went to had this= 12V 35/35W Halogen bulb. Part #6235B. Looks to me that this is the right bulb for the scoot. So I bought 2 bulbs. Price $2.95 each. Can't beat that with a stick. I had to drive about 45 miles one way just to find the bulbs . Now I'm heading out to install them and see what they will do. I''m going to replace both lights because 1 of them is a 25 watt and I need all the light I can get. Speedracer, you were absolutely wright. What a P.I.A. it is to replace the headlight.

scooterran, Good going on finding the right size bulbs. Now the fun starts. Amazing how 2 light which you can easily reach with your hands requires so much time to change. Good luck and just take your time.

Time is up and it's dark. I have the windshield to put on yet but I can get that done tomorrow when I get home. Started the scoot up and it is dark and the new 35w bulbs really put out the light. Glad I put in the new bulbs, really made a big difference.

If any one wants to know if 45w bulbs work the answer is yes. Installed 2 front 45w 45w BA20 D base bulbs. No excessive heat on the sockets or on the lens covers. BTW purchased at Bulb City.
