Ever try to make a left turn at a traffic light and you are the only one there. Well here in SC you can run over the left turn signal activator and nothing happens. Not heavy enough so you wait and wait and hope another car comes behind you to trip the light switch. Well I ordered one of these www.helmetheadcycle.com/product/3696/green-light-trigger-hp today and will give it a shot and report back. A few of the roads I travel on have little traffic, and if there isn't a car in front of me or in back of me I sit and wait or take a chance and make that left. If this magnet works I'll know it right away as I have the perfect light to test it on.

Hope it works out OK, speedracer. We'll be waiting to hear the results. I have read about using the magnets from old computer hard drives to try and do the same thing. They are supposed to be very strong.

as long as your traffic lights are an inductive loop it will work just fine. That was pretty darn expensive for a magnet though. I took a couple hard drive magnets and zip tied them to the lowest part of the centerstand on my suzuki bandit and it worked every time untill the citys light broke.
The city is too cheap to repair the loop, which I believe some one used a hammer and screwdriver to cut the loop. they put it on a timer, so now with the 3 scooters and my car, I sit and wait for the timer to activate like every one else. I think a biker probably did it too, and I would not ever think about purposely cutting a loop as it is way beyond a felony because the city says it would cost upwards of $23,000 to repair it! john

Just run it when it's clear. You can treat it as a stop sign because the signal was "malfunctioning".

Cruiser I'll have it by Tuesday and will give it a try. Never knew a hard drive would work too. As far as the cost being high, I'll admit I have no clue to the cost of magnets and how strong they need to be to work. If this one works I'll be a happy camper. I run into 3 light on my trip to work and hate waiting since the lights are not on a timer.
