Hey all! I got a few questions for ya. Im picking up a new scooter withing the next week or 2 and have a few choices. I can pick up a Ruckus clone for a killer deal, then put a 150 gy6 in there this winter and have a project. i got to talking to a few people and thought of a few other bikes I can most likely swing. Im thinking maybe a: 1. Hammer Head La Vita 2.Genuine Stella 3. Genuine Rattler 4. Genuine Rough House Only cons would be a $10-15 a month insurance jump and a tad higher payment if I get a 150. But if Im dropping 1k+ on a bike, Im not going to do any thing too crazy too it. I really like that Ruck clone (why I dont know lol) and also really like the looks of the La Vita. The La Vita and the Ruck clone are from the same dealer.
But back to topic, what do y'all recommend I get? Probably a daily commuter, driven by a high school kid who can turn a wrench. Planning on doing a few scooter camping trips this year but I am planning to keep my Roketa for that and as a back up/daily rider. But I would still like to take this bike on trips. Storage is not big concern for me but the more the better. Performance is key here. I need something that has some boogie with out my putting a BBK on (at least for now.......) and spending some $$ to get it running 55 or so MPH with quick acceleration. But I have all winter to get it perfectly tuned. Quality is a important but I can skimp a tad on it (people who have seen my Aero know that). Reliability is a biggy though. I can fix it on the side of the road but I dont really want too. I need it to be able to start every morning. I figure if I keep it in tip-top shape Ill have no worries.
Thanks for your opinions!

You have already done some thing a lot of people fail to do, checking on insurance. I don't think any of those bikes were ment for sustained 55mph speeds. taking into account what you want to do with your new scooter should guide you for what to buy. My 150 is happy on a 45mph road and will top out at a little over 60 but traffic and 55mph with it is a big no no. keep reading and might run into some one with one of those exact scooters. john

Go for the Ruckus look, those are so cool looking and can carry a boatload of stuff at that. If I get another scooter that's what I'm going to do as my next project. I'll put a BBK and some performance upgrades in it and have a sleeper screamer; nobody would think an off road looking scoot would haul arse. Rich

I would go for the Stella. Have done a lot of research on this line and like what I see. You can get the 150 in a 2 stroke with 4 speed tranny. Basically an Indian built Vespa. Genuine has a good stable of scoots. I do like the Ruckus look. Both my TGB Del. 150 and My Tank Touring run at 55, GPS checked. The TGB cruises at 55 and tops out at 63 while the Tank cruises at 50 and tops out at 58. I have given a lot of thought to adding a Stella to my group,---maybe down the road.

Get the Hammerhead. It's a near cousin to the Adly Thunderbike. GY6 with a four valve head built in Taiwan (or China to Taiwan specs) and fuel injected if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure it will do 55 without mods and run a good long time. Or find a Thunderbike 150 somewhere.

I sell both the La Vita and the Adly Thunderbike 150 - they are two different bikes. I do not recommend the La Vita - it is a Chinese GY6 w/ fuel injection - we have had a few problems with it and no longer sell them. The TB 150 is a very well made scoot - Taiwan built, oil cooler, 4 valve, 13 HP... The Stella would be my favorite...
