Hi .New to Forum..Need info regarding Emission control parts on a Lance Milan 150..Will not start in cold weather..Enricher works fine. Tried a new carb with same results..Beginning to think dealer connected vac hoses wrong or a component is defective. Lance Power Sports is no help.I know 1 hose from intake manifold elbow goes to fuel pump with a y going to carb cut valve. Where is the second connection on intake elbow go. presently goes to plastic round component with a second hose coming off and going to a round shot glass size part that has end filed with holes that draw in outside air. Wish i could get pictorial of proper hose routing and source for replacement parts....any ideas
Starts ok at 65F or higher...If motor starts in colder temp it stalls and after many restarts it seem when motor has warmed a bit it will run ruff but eventually smooth out and can obtain 55mph on open road. other thing noticed is idle /fuel adg. screw doesn't seem to produce much of a chnge in RPM. Will try to take pix of mess of vac hoses and submit. NOTE also tried 12v Dc pump with regulator and filter with no change in problem. When cold the enricher valve is retracted and when 12v Dc is applied it extends the proper amount in about 5 minutes. (Note) new carb with new enricher in place presented same problem.

Welcome to the forum! Have you checked down in our tech section. If you can't find it there, I'm sure one of our 150 wizards will be back to you shortly. We'll wait a little bit and then move this down to the 50 - 200 cc section.

Hey Willowdr, welcome to the forum. Here's a link to our fuel and vac hose identification tutorial in Air Fuel and Carb. Look it over and then get back to us. It sounds like you have a PAIR system which is very common nowadays:
I'm not sure that's your problem yet but see if everything is in its right place. If you could get us some pictures of your setup it would help. Is this the component with the shotglass you're referring to? If so, we've had some folks that reported having trouble with it. Rich

How cold is cold? Sounds like you may have a spark or fuel problem.
1. Do you have a good blue spark trying to start it... 2. Do you have fuel flow?
That emission thing sounds like it pumps a bit of fresh air into the intake. Try disconnecting and plugging the hoses with golf tees...see if it will start.
Check all your vacuum hose for leeks and get a brass T to replace the plastic Y...

Since it starts in warmer weather then It sure points to Fuel Problems. How do you know your Enricher is working? It may be that all it needs is to adjust your AIR/FUEL mixture for the Cooler temps.
Now depending on how the Air/Fuel Mixture is set it may need to be richened up. You can give it a Try, Turn the Air/Fuel Mixture 1/2 turn Counter Clockwise and try starting it, it may even need 1 full turn but I would try 1/2 turn first to see if it improves. If it acts better then Fine turn the Air/Fuel mixture. Alleyoop

presently goes to plastic round component with a second hose coming off and going to a round shot glass size part that has end filed with holes that draw in outside air. Lose that - a constant source of irritation and vacuum leaks
other thing noticed is idle /fuel adg. screw doesn't seem to produce much of a chnge in RPM.
Mine came with a #32 pilot jet / #105 main and ran way too lean - had to back the AF screw out 4+ turns. Went to #38 pilot/112 main jet which worked considerable better

The silver gizmo that has 3 vac lines with one connected to the black vented small shot glass is exactly what i have.. I did note one vac line goes to 2nd port on intake. if i crimp this line motor runs better. Local dealer does not stock these items soo where can i purchase. have not found online. I would do as Philr54 suggested and lose that POS. Also, you should read this thread over: THREAD LINK. I've never had to deal with that particular device but I would imagine you can just plug the vac nipple and chuck it. Philr might have a few hints and you could PM Ootscoot also. Hard starting can be a symptom of needing a valve set too, if you haven't did that in a while we have a tutorial in Engine tech. Let us know what shakes out. Rich
