Ok Trying to find out how to fix a loose Air Fuel Mixture screw. I believe it is vibrating out and messing up the carb tune. It turns way to easy. How do I stop it from turning out so easy?

Is it long enough to put a small spring over it? To keep some pressure and friction on it to keep it from turning. .

Take it out and see if it has a Spring, Tiney Washer and tiney O-Ring: like this. Maybe when it was taken out the spring was left out of it. If the screw does not have a long barrel on it then set it and take some silicone and put a dab inside to grab the screw. If you need to adjust it then you have to take the silicone off and re-silicone it again after your adjustment. Alleyoop

Make sure the washer and especially the O-Ring are in there otherwise it will be a bitch to get it to Idle good. Alleyoop

If any of those parts are missing or damaged, they may be hard to find to replace. I believe the following link has the repair parts along with an extended idle mixture screw for easier adjustment. www.johnsmotorcycleparts.com/The following may be an even better solution to the loose A/F screw: www.ch250.net/techtips/7.htm

And what is wrong with Squirting carb cleaner in it? It is easy and it does come with a nice long thin straw to stick inside the hole to get lots of pressure blown in there. Alleyoop

Todd, do you know how many turns you have it out? If you do screw it in and count turns. If right back it back to wear it was and every now and then give it a check.

Yes. it was all out of wack when I first got it it was only like 3/4 turns out. Then I put it back to 2 1/4. Then now when I checked again to reset after valve adjustment it had vibrated to like 3 1/2. So I am working on getting back to the 2 1/4 setting.
