Hello. I started my scooter today and about 30 seconds after I started it the fuel guage dropped to empty and stayed there (it is however full) and everything else on is still works fine. Any idea what the issue may be? I tried to stop and restart it but the fuel guage won't go up at all, its just like dead looking.

Just replace the fuel sender unit on the top of the gas tank..
often it will be a faulty float, or the wire and C-clip that holds it is either too loose or too tight...
If you are handy you can replace the fault float and just use an old wine cork.

I have a similar issue. Not thread jacking but for some reason every time I fill my tank It takes 2-3 days for the gage to react. I usually fill up at about 1/3 tank on the gauge and for some reason without fail it takes 2 days for the gauge to read a full tank even after fiddling with the sensor. I always assumed that's just a quirk of my china bike. Not really sure I helped here but, If you know it has gas don't worry. Just pull the cap and check the level by eye. Oh BTW, if ya look in the tank at night use a flashlight not a lighter ;D ;D

Smack the tank, Backhand the dash, Start up and ride!!!! Talk to it a bit rough and that fuel needle may get excited and move up to the proper position. (Just Joking) Tapping the dash a bit may reconnect a loose wire if thats the problem though Keep on Scootin On!!!!

Yep, the wire trick is a Temp Fix, like i mentioned it will probably happen again if it was stuck on the plastic holder. And that is because the real cause is that the Float wire is only held tight up against the contact with a cheapo Snap On washer. And if it works itself loose the Wire with the Float on it will sometimes make contact and or get stuck on either the top or bottom of the plastic holder. Alleyoop

The same thing happend to me a few weeks ago. I opened the front of the scooter enclosing the speedometer and found the machine screw holding the wire to the fuel gauge had rettled loose and when the way of road dust. I replaced the screw and am happy reporting actual fuel levels. Hope this helps.

I have a fuel gauge issue too. Everytime I fill up the needle won't go to full. A couple times I took the float out and put it back in and it was ok then. Sometimes it will go to full after I drive it a few miles. I'm not sure how that float should be. Real floppy loose like when you lift the float on your toilet or should there be somewhat of a drag (resistance)?

Loose...you may have to adjust the C-clip on the hinge end of the float wire...
Too loose however and the sender will stop working.
You need to get to a happy medium...
