That left side hose was a little loose, you were right, good catch. I tightened it. I could prob use a bread wrapper tie to tighten it on there too LOL. So no need to do anything w/ the CDI, if it seems like they are in there good, its good to put away? The hose leads to under the carb and is attached to it. I'm looking at a video now that will tell me the name of where the hose leads to. I'll tell u in a second

Meh, the video is not telling me, it plugs directly into the bottom of the carb though (underneath)
I think its a drain hose to the bottom of the carb bowl.

I reread the post.. I agree with Alley I think you over filled it just a bit and flooded the charcoal canister...
Did this start right after you filled the tank...? or did it run OK for a day or two?

It was good for about a day, ran totally normal. I filled it Tuesday night. I drove it 2x on Wednesday for about 15 minutes each time and when I went to go for 3rd ride at night, that is when it started giving me some crap. I put 1oz sea foam into the gas tank today. I haven't tried to start it since. I let that soak in while I was changing the gear oil and before I opened my scooter up. That little bar that u look at to gauge how full you are filling the gas, is it NOT good to fill it up to where its just about touching the bar. I know never to go over it but should I do less than the gas just about touching it when I fill it? Is it a big deal to fix if I flooded the charcoal canister? I'm pretty sure I know what THAT is on my scooter. fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/282702_1704272627081_1845967276_1159615_4795797_n.jpg[/img] This thing? the lil canister seat belted in w 3 tubes coming off the top?

It's okay 99% of my friends are male, my grandfather raised me, I like to fix things on my own, do construction, etc.. I have the sense of humor of a guy (dirty) So I got the spark plug out. It was way easier than I thought it would be for the location it ended up being in. Did slice my wrist open on some plastic but no big deal, cute little battle wound. It seems like its okay ( not " faulted " ) Its dark brown on the top, no oil on it, pretty clean. The little thing in the middle of the top is like white but tinted brown. I'm supposed to check it at 186 miles but I don't know what I'm checking for? For it looking like its in bad shape basically? I am comparing it to a spark that was on my old scooter and it doesn't look as bad, the gap seems a little more open than the gap on the old one where it looked like it was caving in a little due to age. I'm guessing I can just toss this spark back in and check it again when I'm due to again? I have 4 on order

The plug tell you how the motor is running and how the carb is jetted. Black means too rich or too much fuel, white means lean or more air than gas and light brown or mocha color means just right. Now that you know the plug is good and the CDI is plugged in, you can move onto other things. I think the other scoot mechanics are on the right track. Don't discount an air leak also. Basically, when you give throttle, the motor sucks in the right amount of air and gas. When you have an air leak, the motor pulls more air than gas and does not allow the motor to run and will bog on throttle because there is NOT enough gas.

The plug is good... check it again at about 2000 miles...screw it back in carefully by hand and then tighten it snug.. don't over tighten it!
When I fill the tank I leave it about 1 " below the filler bar...
That is the canister.. but I have never had to dry one out...
Not certain this is your problem now.. usually if you over fill the tank the problem happens immediately and you can't leave the gas station cause the engine won't start...

Thanks Mthomas & sprocket, I got the spark back in. Im good about not over tightening anything... well... when it comes to screws and bolts on my scooter ;D Leave an inch below the filler bar on the gas, gotcha. Gotcha sprocket, ya I could drive it after the gas station. I have the cover to the valves off and my new little feeler guage out so I'm about to check those. Maybe between those being adjusted and the sea foam in my gas now things MAY work. Crosses fingers... If it does, all that is left to do is clean the carb but that can DEF be left for another day. Fewwww today was ENOUGH for me

Thanks. I have that one down. I had to run in for some bug spray. Damn FL mosquitoes at night It seems like the valves are both too tight. On my way back out to work on it

Great! if the valves are to tight that will definitley sap your power and cause hard starting or no starts. I am betting that is it and you should be riding soon. Alleyoop

I believe you bet right alleyoop! Either the Sea Foam I put in the gas tank helped make things good again or loosening up the valve. Could a valve be too tight but not give me crap for the first 2 weeks then all of a sudden give me crap? The valve on the top was too tight, the bottom one seemed just right. I did .002 on top and the bottom fit at .003 already. I looked at 2 vids for valve adjustment & was like ohhhhhh the feeler gauge is supposed to slide ALL the way behind it, not half way then an abrupt stop. I then realized it was too tight. It was kind of weird that the thing u crank to line up the holes on the side wouldn't let me crank it all the way around, (in the vid it looked like it could be cranked all the way around) It only let me go a half circle in each direction but enough where the big hole was out, just not 100% perpendicular to the frame. It wouldn't move when I tried to turn it a little more w my hand, so it seemed good. I put it all back together and I think the hardest part of the day was getting the faring under the seat to line up with the frame when putting the seat back on. What a pain. I put the seat on w/ out the screws, but had it all lined up. Started it up. It started right away, and idled very happily and faster than normal for about 7 seconds, then slower for about 5 seconds, then even slower for about 5 seconds and I was smelling a little gas. I said okay maybe it just needs to get the juices flowing. I gave it a tiny tiny tiny amount of gas and let it idle with a tiny amount of gas for a minute, then took off the gas totally and it didn't seem like it wanted to idle slower or stop so I slowly accelerated and it let me pull away, I drove it very slow, about 2mph, then 5mph, it gave me a tiny bit of hesitation but I just babied it, drove it one block at about 7mph, then slowly kept increasing it, stopped for a stop sign and it still didn't seem like it wanted to idle slower or stop,it seemed to idle normal. I finished up the block at about 15 mph, things seemed fine so I drove it 2 blocks at 20 mph (what I usually drive it at) and also got it up to 25mph for about a block ( I never really go faster than that on the beach because people here drive like they just ate sheet of LSD ) Things seemed normal again. Hopefully they will continue to be normal. I parked it, screwed the seat back on tight, covered it and I'm all up to date on the maintenance that I need to be up to date on other than cleaning the carb. After seeing vids for how to take it out and take it apart, clean it, put it back together and then reinstall it, I'm going to be honest, I'm s**ting my pants. It looks wiked scary. My manual says to clean it at 300km (186 miles) then again every 3000km (1,864 miles) Also there is a guy in some video that has this tiny tiny little thing that almost looks like a micro pipe cleaner to clean out one of the parts for the carb and I have no idea where to get it. The auto parts store didn't have one. Any ideas? Sigh.. do I really need to take it apart already? Why so soon? Is it like how you have to change the oil so soon, to clean out the gunk that can happen from it being broken in? I can't just put sea foam in the gas for now? It, it says it cleans the jets. ;D ;D ;D I mean I will if you think I really should, I'm just not sure why I have to do all that already. What do you guys think of Sea Foam in the gas tank? It didn't say how often I should use it on the bottle... just 1oz per gallon of gas so that's what I put in. Any ideas? Thanks a million for your help everyone. It means a lot that you took the time to help me w/ all this. PLEASE message me w/ any questions if I can return the favor w my personal training / nutrition knowledge One more thing, when I first start it, it sounds kinda like the old station wagon my grandfather had when I was a kid. Like not a super healthy sound while its warming up. I'm going to film it when I first start it tomorrow and upload it and maybe you can tell me what you think of the sound. It has been making it since the day I bought it. Maybe its normal, but the scooter I had before this one never made the same noise, so I don't know
